Some pictures tell stories with happy endings.

Others do not.http://dreamingcasuallypoetry.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-mystery-behind-babes-in-woods-1934.html

Mouse Watering Good (Last Drops)

Otters in the waters
Are still grand on the land.Have some fun.
Work yourself.
"Yuck" it good!

You can do it.
Do it good...

hey there say, mouse...

knowing that you like history, etc...

here is a share, for january 12th... oh my...

On the morning of January 12, 1888, a blizzard swept down suddenly on the unsuspecting inhabitants on the prairies of the upper Midwest (especially portions of Nebraska and South Dakota) with unprecedented ferocity.

Nature on PBS this week was very enlightening. Plus, this was so well-filmed that it was like watching on Cinerama, I expect, though I never got to attend that theater in SF as a kid.

Really, the program is worth watching for the camera-work alone, which is all done in the freezing arctic air.

This tells how animals have adapted to living in snow and in cold.

Teaser for the new episode...

Fascinating reading, I'm sure, in The Children's Blizzard. I had never heard the phrase or the stories.

Thanks, too, for the jumbled mess you sent! :0)

Thanks so much, neebee, for these little sent things make people feel special.

So I'm posting this one of pansies floating in space for neebs, who's still not typing...

Is the fad of bullriding still with us?Not to mention bullfighting, which has been recently covered.

The final solution has stumped me. Humbly, I advertise for some help.

I got the words. It's the solution that excapes me.

For yuck's sake. Me, the word guy, bamboozled. Such a bizarre take-down.

Lotta bull ridin' here in Wyo.
So I hear.
I pass the grounds when the climbin' calls.
Seems popular with the buckaroos.
They all love the CNR.
Every night when summer falls.

Not my thing, though I've been.
Most people seem to be all hat and no cattle.

I like my fuzzy hat and a pair of cat.
Bull never did nothin' to me.
'cept stare.

Bodacious am a whole lotta' bull
Over nineteen hundred pounds.
He's born in Galtry Oklahoma,
And he's the baddest sonsabitch around.

If a burma bull ever was a superstar,
Then Bodacious just might be.
He's a cream colored, beefy brawn,
Full-fledged, four-footed bovine celebrity.

Who's gonna ride Bodacious?
Who's gonna take him down?
Look out for Bodacious.
He's bound to hold his ground.

Here come Bodacious.
Y'all just step aside.
Big and bad Bodacious,
Takes a toll from those who ride.

Young Bo met a man named Tuff Hedeman
At the start of his buckin' spree.
And Tuff became one of the few to make the whistle
Back in nineteen ninety three.

Tuff tried to ride Bo again at the finals
In nineteen ninety five.
Bodacious had got a little older and wiser,
Tuff barely came out alive.

Sorry to say it is, mouse. Brutal for the bulls, and causes traumatic brain injury to the rider.

I went to high school with this guy's dad:

k_s, my deep and heartfelt condolence to the family of young Ty.

Helmets do not prevent concussion. The NFL, too, has protocols, and they are more likely to have them for repeated concussion, but of this I am not 100%, though I could look it up.

If HER wrists weren't bothering her so much, neebee could weigh in here, but she's sidelined.

SIT THERE AND READ, sister neebee. Post not, pray lots for Ty's soul and his family. I shall be doing so.

There is an intrinsic pressure in the sport for athletes to compete despite injuries because if they're not riding, they're not getting paid.

This seems to be very common in lots of competitive arenas. I'm glad it's not that common in climbing.

i hitched an early season ride from flagg ranch, through yellowstone to his (fifth?) summer in cody with an aging rodeo cowboy. slide-in camper pulling a trailer with all his props ... chickens, sheep, barrels and half the shebang lashed on. he was late to catch on to: yoga, vitamins, meditation etc. hadn't started out thinking of himself as an athlete back in the fifties, but the eighties were upon us.

i love riding with folks in no hurry. pulled over next to a geyser to adjust the valves, feed the chickens, a little self care ... i was heading to spend the season plying my own sport in the hills and was late to catch on to some of the same issues so felt a certain kinship in a feeble way. i promised to make it to the rodeo grounds to watch him earn his living but sadly, i never followed through

Hat by which I can be recognized off to you, hooblie.
A noble thought, nonetheless.

A riled-up climber named Ament
Once a bull-rider to the hospital sent
He'd said something to Pat
Who did not like that
And down on the floor the man went

In this scene, Tonto has revived after a serious fall from Golden Calf.

He tells Serra he's had a vision, saying:

Now that Juniperro (what kind of dog is that?) is a Saint, shouldn't the mountains be renamed to the High Serra?
