Has anyone ever met the KiteMan of Alcatraz?

Anybody here got one of these? Is the helmet considered optional? Do you really need a whether_man to know if you should go out flying on a particular day.

Gonna go out on a limb and say front line too long, back lines too short.

Here is a film based on the book by Anne Makepeace which I am enjoying immensely.

Edward S. Curtis: Coming to Light

I can't imagine an older person doing all he did.

Princess Angeline, the elderly daughter of Chief Seattle.

Made a deal with Kev, to where he'll give me a $120 deal on a virus scan and backup for $80 if I'll just STFU about my pix and let him show me his pix.

He's getting some good ones and gets around a lot more than I do, too.

Michele has asked and I cannot answer how Brian became the mouse, rather than say the Monsignor, mariachi, muse, or moralist of Merced,

She did not mention Mandingo or Malthusian

Five years!

Then some sort of congratulations are in order.

But first let me say thanks for expressing yourself so well and heartfelt and noshit and all neighborly and sh#t on The Flames, an open marriage between a lot of folks but with no sex, fewer and fewer drugs, less and less alcohol, hardly any rancor, but with its full complement of rock n' roll and like that (country, western, folk, folk-rock, New South, New Wave, punk, and juvenile stupid love songs) and a high regard for poetry.

And boss shorts, right and left breaks, and 'bots.

DMT

Gotta go. Gotta roll.
Gotta move to save my soul.
This road. That one.
Every damned which one.
Go alone. Go with friends.
DMT's roads have no ends.
His world's big. My world's small.
This medium's the message but that's not all.
Gotta go. Gotta roll.
Gotta lot of soul and he ain't no troll.

//Inow DMT! Hmm where to begin, Ho I know you dawg,,Is that my way of starting everyday up Erect Direction to gain the GT Ledge? Or, is it Double Crack?

. Also & a close second is my favorite Nephew has just started to work there at the Strand a very hard sought job that is the 1st full time position they have offered in Decades I'm a proud uncle.

Now on another note what will it take?

I'm a good cook, the wife an amazing baker when she is not painting,
I've got more unclimbed stone banging around in my head
All a short drive from that overcrowded (still fun though)
out door climbing gym they call the Gunks,

all one pitch wonders, it hardly matters the stone is granite & great.
my climbing areas deserve that red letter day
please come and play with the 'ver rounder getting Gnome ~

These are stumble, limp ten minutes of flat approach,( well? Not short cuts, they are steep 5 minutes from the car so still half as far as half of what it now takes to park and 'hike' to climb at the Gunks.

a stop on the way?

You could climb three routes and be on Modern Times DIRECT by 2 pm, Com'on get some Danbury,
Or
we could the three of us go to Green Pond in New Jersey?

Thanks for all those great snaps wow you two 5 yrs and no first ascents? Oh wait I think I saw that some of that western northern Cali suff was un-sent

Why keep it a secret?

And then, that three day stop over with your love. causes conception, ( if you're into that)
you, the two of you alone, then realize what the place means to you.
You never want the feeling of 'coming home' to change when you go out to your secret crag.
You feel the place, it's corners haunt your dreams. It is where you can find peace.

The fact that you'll never climb the ultimate line at the cliff is also on your mind,
you want the 1st crack at it and not have to respect the next wave pullers who are younger,
so much younger. With Strength to throw away,
the way you had that strength, Way back in the day.

I , too, Have more reasons to keep it as my private Idaho. Not yours.

It is not like we pull the camo sheet over the cliff when we leave.
( has any one else done that?)
We can't post it with no trespassing signs or take the climbs home with us,
The point of having risen to the level of self-sufficiency ? To me, it is to take
ones' self and a pal or two off the grid
and share in a special feeling of having found a place.
A place to call your own.

Rock is so ubiquitous ! Climbable, good quality rock it is not everywhere though,
So when we do find the Brave Cowboy's dirt tracks. . .
out of respect for the feelings that we have for our own hidden gems.
We tread with more respect , maybe we even turn and make our own tracks.

I see, though, that you puzzled out the truth
The truth laid out by a rat obsessed Climber come gymnastic coach,
Who's pithy share ~ if this 'this' is that & not 'that' that, then this is that 'this' to keep close to the vest.

Baked into her breasts, mother natures greatest gifts and the solitude to be at peace there
to be able to feel the untouched stone.is all!
that's not nothing to sneeze at,
Tami is the only one I know of that read what I said about not landing on my head .
I had no idea when I stuck the landing on a snowy ledge that I'd never climb ice again,
but I still don't tell any one about the ice climb that forms off Federal Road, Brookfield ,
You can see it from the Highway as you're heading to Waterbury on Rt84(Exit 7/11)
above the Lazy Boy Recliner Store parking lot,Across from Stew Lenards , almost
See all those Condos ? they have big parking lots, as well
(Easy top down, ho please)
the top catches a breeze I'd hoped it would stay freezed.
Not that time , and @3 am .... Like I said I stuck that landing .... And the judge gave me a 10
If I share it
If I take you
I tell you
Not to tell!
can you tell?
Sure you can!
If I find it was you?
I'll break your fingers
For sure, keep it to
Yourself , secret!
thank

Bob - Rainy Day Women 12 & 35

Red Eyes and Red Skies

Waking up to the reddest skies I’ve ever seen
It makes me want to flee the scene
But smoke particles are really mean
We need some rain, nature’s washing machine

Sick of the air and sick of the fires
I’d hate to use it to fill my tires
It chokes my lungs and my desires
This holocaust of dead pine pyres
