I would love to see Alaska
Just not free to do so at the moment
Not an arborist, just an ordinary tree service contractor
I don't even get up in trees much anymore
Have a crew, but we stick to our local area
Don't know anybody up that way in the business
Make sure you verify their credentials before you sign anything, Feralfae
Licenses, workers comp if they have a crew, and liability insurance
$100 to $150 hourly is the rate for tree companies in the Sacramento
Unless they're free lance,
then you are taking your chances unless they are referred to you with accolades
Just don't pay anything up front beyond a nominal deposit
Good luck
PS
My radio control model airplane racing friends named me bushman
about ten years ago
That's my pilot nickname or 'call sign'
Calling me bushman is intended as a friendly dig at me and my profession
I use a lower case 'b' to spell it because it's my one and only attempt at humility, ha ha
For reals
Anyway, it's bedtime for bushman
Night all

Good night.
Yer right.
The tree in question is redbud.
Bro Tim's email from around 5:50 tonight...
that pic you posted looks like redbud to me
That's settled and the reason I didn't recognize it is
that I've only noticed it and photographed it when it's budding.
Who knows how tall Ranger Rock is in feet, please? I'm waiting for my pix to download--it's running super-slow, another dang virus, like as not.

Cosmic,
Is it time for some of your close buddies to start a FR campaign for you?
Also, lots of hospitals have foundations to help with expenses. Usually a considerable amount is allowed, maybe 50% of the bill in some instances.
Your condition is getting worse, not better. Maybe it is time to hatch a plan. I will be talking with neebs maybe later tonight, or tomorrow, so we will talk about this. She knows everybody!
I'd contribute.
Sending all good wishes and prayers and some fairy dust.

It's only seven hundred feet high according to Summit Post.
It felt like more on the descent trail, which I ascended.
I took my time. No need to rush.
ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD.
I went super-light, no water, two Korean candies, the inhaler, which proved indispensable, a spare camera battery, the shirt on my back, the Levis and La Sportiva approach boots.
And the CHILO'S CHILE ball cap!
I met plenty of folks who were descending who were happy to water me.
I saw around eighteen people descending while on this round trip.
I let every one of them pass me, of course.
ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD.
Merry Braun, the tough/tender lady of WBraun, told me several years ago to travel at my own pace, not care about who's better able to go faster, and just enjoy the walk.
It was invaluable advice, and since it came from her, it has been followed assiduously by me on my rambles.
I began at 10:45 and got to my high point at 2:30.
Took a lot of pix and made one side trip out on a ledge to shoot a party on the skyline.
I actually missed the right-hand turn that leads to the area below that spire nobody seems to climb.
I ended up at the top of the ridge coming in from the direction of Split Pinnacle and went a little ways in that direction, but stopped and went back down as I knew I'd be in a bind if I dicked around.
The bus back to town left at six from the Lodge and I was on it.
I'd call that a good damn day and I'm feeling really good.
This was funny to me. I was sitting at the base of A7 & A6 with three Asians, two guys and a girl. All the while they were talking amongst themselves, I had been joshing with a young American climber, one of four women in two ropes, and I told her that the first time I had done A6 was in the late sixties. She said I must have been on the FA. I had to chortle at that, because she was nearly right. It was only in '65 that Yvon did the route with Ruth Schneider.
And then he came back with Joy Herron and they established JUMP FOR JOY, a splendid little climb.
Well, the Koreans gave me some agua and I went up to the left, to shoot some bolted route and then as I was coming down to hit the descent route the Korean gal came up and gave me the candies. I looked at the candy, told her I was apologetic about thinking they were Japanese, and she said "Is OK! I'm South Korean! It's OK!"
And away I went.
Best thing I've done in years.

So I fed up and got on the bus, Gus.
No more selfies, I promise.
Cruised out the 140 just like with Mathis on Wednesday, but with a better ride and much cleaner windows. Same old ride, but in the early dawn light, it was so much more appealing. Being up above fencelines really helps out.
I should really try to go to sleep again. First time misfired.

No good. Cannot find Morpheus anywhere. Probably ran off with Ay-Aye.
These are definitely headed to the "Merced River Photography Plan."

When Aye-Ay came by, he was spraying about one of his parental units getting 35 mpg crossing the Zion nebula BITD. They haven't made gasbots in over two hundred terran years.
Stupid menitroso! He's gonna end up on one of those galaxy-wide wanted posters if he doesn't chill out.
Cruise low, ride slow, and use your fastest speed setting.

Maybe I should have seen this coming, but I just discovered a couple of days ago that there are mosquito like bugs called No See Ums.
Nasty little things.
