Nine years after that illusive airplane crash. Tom is someone I should have met, but I guess I had moved on by then. Four years is a long time when you're a teen ager.

ADIOS, AMIGO

Such a rotten trick played on a nice kid.

Fate, you got a booger stuck to your finger on this one.

What does a person need to do or be to get in good with you, anyway?

Luck? Good looks? Charm? Talent? A positive outlook?

A combination of these?

A fortune could not buy the answer, though fortune is another name for fate.

don't care how great you are
don't care what you worth
when it all ends up you got to
go back to mother earth

Vaya con Dios.

Scott is someone I should have met, but I guess I had moved on by then. Four years is a long time when you're a teenager.

In all candor, I never met Scott Cosgrove, though I did end up with a beater Chevy sedan he'd used in the Valley, through the machinations of the wily Herr Braun, one of Scott's mentors and eggers-on.

My only connection to him is a thanks he extended to me on ST for letting him know that sedan's eventual fate.

This goes to show that we are not what we drive. If we were, then we would not remember Scott as a beater seventies Chevy with no smog and bad brakes, but as a Hummer or a Mercedes van with some wear and tear, but still good for most things.

The Flames salute your passing, Scott.

You can rail at fate, all you like, but

You may still meet your end while on a hike.

So true my friend,

he heard the drumroll, refused the call, built back up,

Life's Enchanted chalice or cup, Filled to the brim, or not

the goblet when grasped, Sparkles most,

nearest the top

Still, in the end there is no avoiding the last frame,

the final curtain call.

Life's Enchanted chalice, Filled to the brim, the goblet when grasped,

Sparkles most near the rim. . .

Still, in the end there is no avoiding the last call , a final last fall.

Peas and Freedom Foundation presents:
THE WARMONGERS.

The Warmongers is a series dedicated to wiping out war, it's just that simple. The PFF is an offshoot of The Flames, but not directly affiliated.

Today's screed--Too often parents raise their kids up to be cannon fodder.

They are either lazy or don't care about their kids' futures.

One man, David "Cannonball" Smith, has a different take on raising kids.

He raises them to be cannonballs, not targets for the draft board.

"His son, two daughters and a cousin are all regularly fired from one of five cannons they own."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4192448.stm

David Smith became the first man to cross the Mexi-Cali border at TJ via cannon (2005).

Fatalities (thirty to date) occur mainly because the cannonball either misses the net or lands wrong.

But just wait until the wingsuiters figure out how to get artillery up on the peaks, causing a spike in the number of deaths, I'm thinking.

"We're going to keep the families together, but they've got to go."
--Donald Trump on the finer points of his proposed wall at the Mexican border

"What nets?"--Trump's comment to a reporter asking about his plan's inclusion of "aerial repatriation" of illegals

What Dreams are made of, not just moon beams

I do not sleep soundly or quaking neither so I have very few vivid dreams .

For a few nights, now, at around 3, I've had the same dream though,

Short and vivid, & repeating, here repeated:

The Next door neighbor who's girl child is my girls' age and twice as mature,

comes over knocking on the door. ( He and We don't speak in waking hours)

He says; "No one likes a tattletale, but was (J La rose), that guy back there ,

Cutting wood in my backyard ?"

I answer: 'I think some thing fell" and make niceties, saying, "the girls sure have grown up well"

He answers; "Well - J... has no permission to cut anything - fell or not, from back there,
and if you see him do that , here is our number, Please call"

It Must Have been the Roses....

then of course the man was back there the day after the 1st time I had the dream
poaching some oak...
he is a joke, but taps some sap and steals the wood to Sugar...
He has plenty of his own...

Along with that the dream continues, and Im not sure where the switch comes,
but I'm on the phone,

and saying things - "to not expect us, as the funds are low "
"sorry 'bout that Gramzz".

then I'm sitting in amongst my swill, the mess is best described. thus . . .

I turn over a shipping label & to my surprise I find it addressed to mfm,

along the side is the phone number.

Every time I type your initials sir it comes up her...

'Twas Five to Nine

'Twas five to nine
And pressed for time
I needed lime
But Clementine
Oh so sublime
Thought lemon substituted fine
Lest I remind
That she was just a friend o' mine
But I digress and do not whine
That all the boys would stand in line
As one by one she would decline
Their wanton need that they might find
A way to capture and entwine
Her by roses and moonshine
But her desire was just to climb
With no romantic ties that bind
Or to be wooed by any kind
Of sophomoric valentine
Our friendship never nickel dime
But more like salt and iodine
She knew well of my family vine
And tried to never undermine
My experiments with turpentine
And undiluted clomipramine
You see I was a Frankenstein
And wished to clone beyond the Rhine
A being not so elephantine
As my preddesor's heterodyne
Between demigod and humankind
My goal was somehow to combine
With beauty sweet as eglantine
Witt strength and stealth I'd redesign
Experimenting to refine
No courtesan or concubine
But an equal just as genuine
As friendship 'neath the mountain pine
Though some might think it asinine
I'd name her aptly Caroline
And send her off to Lichtenstein
And wait to hear from her a sign
Her marksmanship was most divine
Both with the pistol and carbine
And how she'd masterfully align
Simultaneously riding two equine
I thought with pride that she'd outshine
Miss Annie Oakley I'd opine
So now I'll take my quinine
With olives cured in salty brine
And to my hammock I'll recline
And dream of things less serpentine
Than lengthy poems that have to rhyme

DEATH IN THE FAMILY

Don't call me, I'll call thee,
Next time I have a dream of me.
I once dreamed I had no mother;
What was weird was so did Brother.
We told Sis, who then told Dad,
He spanked us saying we were bad.
Mom just laughed and shook her head
Looking at our bottoms red.
When she eventually died
How we all four cried
And carried on in different ways.
Now tears have dried
And we have learned to abide,
But we do not dream nowadays.

Five to Three, it's time for tea.
And again at Twenty after Four.

Super size, large fries, big mac, coca cola
Go on man, pick your poison
Speed, weed, ecstacy, LSD
Man, it don't bother me cos we're all on something
Caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol
You know I'm clawing at the walls trying to get my fix
Prozac, ADD tablets, coke, smack
Now you know i am turning tricks cos
I used to get high for a living
Believing everything that I saw on my TV

ST has the potential to be "better than Wikipedia," I will say that, Spider Savage.

Savage Wasps a la Reilly.

Zombees and Killer Bees and neebees and savage insects abound.

TOO MANY ZOMBIES
by Tim Stich...

Zombies in the futures markets
Zombies at the lake
Zombies at the bakery oven
making up a cake

Zombie cruising on the highway
when it's late at night
Zombies at the school yard bitching
looking for a fight

Zombies eating all the flowers
planted in the yard
Zombies running up the balance
on your credit card

Zombies at your office party
Zombies on the phone
Zombies laughing at your hair-do
when you're all alone

Stupid, smelly, worm-filled zombies
hanging at the pool
Bloody, rotting, pink-eye zombies
trying to look cool

Zombies doing work you once did
for a lower wage
Zombies wrestling wearing costumes
in an iron cage

Zombie Turbo Tax adviser
Zombie custard pie
Zombie when it's cold and rainy
Zombie when it's dry

Zombies wearing business suits
Zombies wearing capes
Zombie retro movie feature
"Planet of the Apes"

Zombies don't know what it was like
when you were a kid
Zombies taking credit for things
that they never did

Blink in' down at @ 7% charge left
Desperate times and also
Sorta bumbed out
did the standard route
up bowling ball alley scree
to see what the storm damage was at the top
This is 6-8 miles out and back ,
I'm totally toasted
ankle injury screaming,
the old feeling of not attached ligaments in the crook
where the hinge is
on top of the foot
feels like it needs a staple or two.

This has been the same complaint for ever since 95
@ least
the good old Doc, had wanted to preform a fixation-
a bolt through the hinge locking the joint.
If that had been done
my very long climbing would have been
up
and the big toe on that foot.
Blown by now.
It only hurts more now and only a bit more than last year,
but the hike and 90 ft of Up to 5.6
mostly 5.3 what ever that is ..,
three moves past vertical
60 feet straight up,
then round a horn ,
the corner.
And back down.
The limp along the road was noticeable.

That is the news from
Gnome woe begone
I wonder where it's gone
Going
Going
Got to get me some,
Thirteen pounds , and....13 more
5% charge I'm gone
Pray for pecunium,
Peace

I did call her though
so Not Dead
YET

Is IT a LEAP year thing?

DAD was the Man, compared to my spitting Image...

This then is a desperate time of Nil

but you see I've had my fill of this old rhyme

sure it would fill a four volume set ,

hmm that what rhymes with 4 ?

following roughly, The Opera of the Seven Rings

In support of all things for the Family and its businesses

for years I held both License's

Headed and funded with both toiling work

Sometimes up to my ankles & in murk,

as the no power meant, no lights

that manning pumps was deadly if the power came back on,

so a#1 son was always ready to jump down those rat hole basements

Now the Charges added up,

and no remittance paid, but in trade

and that was always okay

until this Leaper day
