This trio's pretty good.
Reminded me of camping at Yellow Pine, somehow.

Not that I'm a great fan of Jerry Brown, it's just that I'm not a great fan of bumble-headed chief executives who support things like declaring the great month of April as "Second Chance Month" to "celebrate those who have exited the prison system and successfully reentered [the great] society," only to turn around in his tracks and cast stones at another Chief Executive for pardoning convicts.
I wonder what KIJ thinks of DT, really.

Happy Easter!
Mouse, are you all moved and settled in now?
How's things going?
Bushman, I think you could submit Alpine Worlds 1 & 2 to Alpinist magazine. Perfect stuff for their publication. They are good people to work with, too
Hooblie, great 'biner joke. I was puzzled until the "thank you for joking with us" and thought that the chap was a bit daft.
Since I don't need to hide Easter eggs for anyone today, think I will go visit the migratory flocks resting on the lakes and fields around here. Happy Easter everyone!

No, not nearly. I'll start packing this week. Sold the bunks and the sewing machine, so that is a relief, but they still have to be hauled away. I've been pottering around a bit, not doing much, but have gotten rid of some things and need to toss more of this accumulation still. One bedroom isn't much room.
Happy Easter to you, and to all of the rest of us on ST. I'm having Cantonese food tonight from New China down the street to celebrate.
Hint: it was not the re-opening of New China Cafe in its second location.
zBrown, I'm told Jason Kidd is going into the Naismith Hall of Fame this year.
GO CAL BEARS!

I recall my visit to the top of the South Tower sometime in the 70s with Scott Barr, younger brother of Jim Barr*, a pitcher for the SF Giants.
Scott had obtained a key to the door of the elevator leading from the deck of the bridge to the top of the tower's east side.
The view is splendid, as you can well imagine. Now that there are so many tall skyscrapers in SF, the views from them are probably better, but not the location.
There isn't much room up there, but much more than in the room into which I'll be moving. I'd not want to live on the tower, though. Think of the commute!

Edit: Best book on the construction of the bridge is "Spanning the Gate" by my friend Steve Cassady.

I wondered about those dealie-bobs. Thanks, Jon.
This Easter weather is so mild today...it's quite a contrast to Easter Sunday of five years ago.
It was a dark and stormy night, but when the sun rose the rain ceased and the thunderheads rolled by, stacking up on the Sierras like monster balls of bunny fur.
Looking to the mountains, listening to the rolling thunder, and wondering, "Why is there no more rain?"It was a drought year. All show and little go.

Oh, good Jon, I was trying to determine if they were dark mushrooms or valves. A bouquet of valves. Lovely.
Okay, Mouse, then I will wait to ship anything until you are all moved in.
Still on the big project here, then will be almost retired. I can see this is going to take some time to adapt to the non-schedule each day.
Happy Easter everyone! What a glorious day to be alive and in the world!

Jean de La Fontaine, 17th C. French sage, wrote:
On Fate
"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it."
and
"To live lightheartedly but not recklessly;
to be gay without being boisterous;
to be courageous without being bold;
to show trust and cheerful resignation without fatalism —
this is the art of living."
On Faith
"Everyone believes very easily whatever they fear or desire."
On Judgment
"Beware, as long as you live, of judging people by appearances."
