DANG, Marlow! That is such a great song. It brings tears to me eyes, it does.

We Berminghams are from a seaside town on Galway Bay.

Today, the 29th of March, is the birthday of me sainted mother, Barbara, and me best friend, the Rev.

May the one rest in eternal peace and the other die in Tuolumne Meadows, sure.

I've heard from Bevin, my own daughter, who is in the initial planning stages for her wedding sometime in 2019.

She will not require anyone to "give her away" at the ceremony (patriarchal, archaic idea--she's her own woman, not someone's property.

She will ride down the aisle on an animatronic pachyderm, she says. Her intended will proceed to her side while inside a large hamster ball.

Shades of Katie Perry...

I do not know what became of my mom's first sewing machine. She used to make us all matching shirts. The one that I still remember well was made from a fabric that looked like a French newspaper.

I wonderif there's a photo in one of those boxes.

The one machine, not shirt, I have, we took in for a tune up (from a ninety year old guy) who not only did a great job but also gave a lecture on maintenance (keep it covered and oiled). Oil is the life blood of the ancient.

What the ghost is in it, I do not know.

[Click to View YouTube Video]Comment on the video...

Lonnie was my first houseguest in London Ontario ( I bought a nice yellow brick home at 177 Central Av in 1966 $ 13,000 bucks) I think it was 1968 and Lonnie was the darling of the folk music set in Toronto.

He was playing a very odd gig at a fleabitten old country/Western Bar. The audience was very unsure of what was happening on stage as Lonnie obviously had nothing in his repetoire to suit their tastes.

The closest he could come was a number called "My Mother's Arms" (which he performed in every other set,I think).

No one there had any idea that this fellow was a living legend of the Jazz Guitar, having virtually invented it along with his friend Eddie Lang. Lonnie played with The Duke [Ellington] way back in '27.

It so happens, DMT, that today I am returning all the oxygen tanks and the generator. I am doing fine w/o them.

Fact is, since the gov't has denied me Medicare Part A, I won't be able to pay for the rental fees on my own. So the fellow is due by here this morning to pick that stuff up.

My pneumonia has been long gone, but the recovery is only now evident. I'm not relying on the walker, either. So good news. Sort of apropos on Easter weekend, I think.

It didn't dawn on me that it was Good Friday when I wished all a good Friday earlier, but the boys at the Cinema set me straight on the holiday. I tend to lose track of time a bit more every year. Along with that, the days seem to run together more.

Seems that I just took my daily doses when they're due again. Time moves faster as I near the finish line.

Since it is that day again, let's give Randy Hamm, who passed on this day in 1983 (hard to believe it's 35 years), a moment of silence.

And a collective hug for Gypsy.

Sincere wishes that you get even stronger, Dingus. You'll likely never get it all back, so enjoy what you get while you can.

Death don't show no mercy in this land.
