Would you take the L Train?

You gotta go
Whoa no
You gotta get out
Gotta shout
You got to get goin’
Who’s knowin’?

In the pouring rain
Take the L train
In the dark
Off to Rockaway Park
Reach reach
At the beach

Finally
Down by the sea
On the east shore
Say no more
The Atlantic
It makes me frantic

Don’t be a dunce
Maybe for once
You can go
Go go go
For the good times
Nickels and dimes

Go on
C’mon son
Shout shout shout
You gotta get out
Go on
Gotta get gone

Get goin’
Here’s to knowin’
Please go
Whoa whoa whoa
It’s just one thing
Do something

What The Flock

In Tuolumne Meadows counting stars and not sheep
I ponder on questions that are not very deep
But they’ve vexed me for years and I’m unable to sleep
Like who were the first ones to drive here in a Jeep
or
Did Muir have a dog to help drive his flock
Did he sometimes trot on his long summer walk
Did he call it a dome or was it just Lembert Rock
Did he miss having people with whom he could talk

Waiting 'round To Die
LP/For the Sake Of the Song

Sometimes I don't know where this dirty road is taking me
Sometimes I can't even see the reason why
I guess I keep on gamblin', lots of booze and lots of ramblin'
It's easier than just a-waitin' 'round to die

One-time friends I had a ma, I even had a pa
He beat her with a belt once cause she cried
She told him to take care of me, she headed down to Tennessee
It's easier than just a-waitin' 'round to die

I came of age and found a girl in a Tuscaloosa bar
She cleaned me out and hit it on the sly
I tried to kill the pain, I bought some wine and hopped a train
Seemed easier than just a-waitin' 'round to die

A friend said he knew where some easy money was
We robbed a man and brother did we fly
The posse caught up with me, drug me back to Muskogee
It's two long years, just a-waitin' 'round to die

Now I'm out of prison, I got me a friend at last
He don't steal or cheat or drink or lie
His name's codeine, he's the nicest thing I've seen
Together we're gonna wait around and die

Big Lou Eddy

They called him Big Lou Eddy
He was full of ambiguity
He played with scorpions and all
Was fast livin’ till the piper called
And cured his curiosity

Was a lady down on bourbon street
The boys lined up for her to meet
They called her Shady Missy Gray
And so outspoken in her way
Her demise was more than bittersweet

I’ve heard it’s wise to trust misgivings
And Freddy Paz he made his living
Selling snake oil down at the track
Always said he’d give the money back
‘Till he died from one less than forgiving

There was a boss named Arthur Meen
The meanest boss you’ve ever seen
And it happened late one afternoon
At the setting of the silver moon
When he fell into the press machine

They say mothers milk is always best
Or hold your cards close to the vest
If you’re a rich man or you’re poor
Life is short and there’s the door
And Fate can be a fickle mistress

Came in the electronic mail today...cousins from Idaho.
I blame serendipity or just good timing, one.
CJ is my mother's cousin, the lady who ran The Leadville coffeehouse in that Ketchum place.

Timing is everything--but always remember location, location, location.
This is out somewhere in the middle of Utopia, which means in Greek, NOWHERE.

That picture postcard was purchased (part of a package deal, ten for a buck) in a local antiki shoppe.

Using Google Images' unique and patented image recognition software to detect the ID of those gremmies, are you?

I tried using it to help Janet Wilts discover the ID of the "Checkered Demon" in another thread just now.

Not gonna register there. Very very uptight about that kinda stuff. Leads to elitism. Discord. Fire/flood/famine/bot invasions.

I got this sent to me in the email tonight as a result of registering online once...The Jefferson Airplane was really just a drone, y'know.
