In August 2014 there were three fires burning around the Valley's rim. Worst day ever I saw there for smoke.

Temperatures below freezing or above 90 degrees Fahrenheit tend to cause COPD symptoms to flare up. Cruciferous veggies cause bloating. I've had considerable abdominal discomfort this last week since I cooked up some pottage. I've done this veggies-only recipe several years before to lose weight, but now I find I can't use cauliflower or broccoli in my diet (according to COPD nutrition notes), both of which I put into the recipe!

I'm better off this morning, though, because I had broth yesterday for lunch and dinner, which only consisted of that and two tomatoes. At last I'm breathing a little better and have gotten some sleep.

Have a good day, be good to each other, and don't forget to ride low and cruise slow.

It is a real horror show when your house goes up in Flames so much more so when there are little ones and the dog dies, in that county in that party town it is even worse in many ways.

I don't wanna be pickled
An' I don't wanna be fe dead
I just wanna ride my mo-o-otorcy-y-ycle, Fred

I'd like to give mankind a stern rebuke.

What, it's not enough that we pickle the cuke?

We gotta pickle, put up, store, shelve, can, inventory, categorize, keep an eye on, and be responsible for all the skins, heads, tails, paws, livers, horns, hooves, fangs, and poop of 10% of the trade in banned animal products at tremendous expense to the taxpayers of this country, some of whom are responsible for this trade their very selves?

Like POTUS and his riduculous toupee?

Jeez, gimme a break.

And mind me platypus duck, Bill
Mind me platypus duck
Ah, don't let 'im go running amok, Bill
Just mind me platypus duck

Inauguration Day

Sitting high above the Potomac swamp,
in the long shadow of the spilt blood and dreams of the Founding Fathers and Founding Mothers,
I can see more than the average man sees.

I imagine the cells, the nucleus of things.

I see colors that evolved to speak to the smallest of eyes.

Sacrifices that meet this cataclysm of longing for what can and what can, overcoming what cannot.

In the majesty of the quantum world, in the beauty of building blocks, in the tiniest of elements, I glimpse the privilege of being.

The alertness does not subtract. It adds.

It is not our inheritance merely to abide in this beautiful world.

It is our inheritance to understand it.
