Trees of Life and Death.

I had a belt buckle one I really liked
aside from being free
and holding my pants up
it looked the same from above or below
because it was a simple dendrite pattern
etched into the bronze buckle
of a tree root system and a tree branch system
in which both were identical
each seeking nourishment
from either the air
or the earth
depending from which way one viewed it
and I never could decide myself
which was which
--which is like a lot of things in life.

My next step in the medical chain is to go back (next Wednesday) to Fresno for echocardiography and another visit with the heart pharmacist/specialist.

Then, pending approval, the lovely Kabrina will coordinate my "bridging" with the injected drug Lovenox (six days of this) with the blood thinner/anticoagulation clinic and Doctor C's schedule, thus giving me a date for the hernia procedure.

This is all beginning to be like an episode of deja vu with flash-forwards, not flash-backs.

Further follow-up on feralfae's questions:

The view shown on the previous page is from ME's fifth floor. This is also taken from that same vantage.
There's a bush stuck under the corner of that bin. I think it's one of the ones planted years back by the city and had not been scraped by the prep work. Not sure on that, though.

Here is what the view will be from my room.

Notwithstanding my own sensibilities about moon-art, it's still supposed to be a Dylan.

It's just not his masterpiece.

'Fake' background is Stoney Point, not the "Sierra Madre."

Why get so upset over 'fake?' It's part of the Amway of Life.

Gunga Din was shot in the Buttermilks, ya know.

But it goes way deeper, all the way back to NJ and The Great Train Robbery.

Truth does not blush and the greatest lies are often told in silents.

John Huston tried telling the truth to the public, but the US War Dept. shut his film Let There Be Light away for generations. It was an exploration of the ways in which American servicemen returning from combat were treated for what has become known as PTSD.

Here is the full-length film. It is disturbing, to say the least. But it's as close to the truth as Huston could make it.

This documentary film follows 75 U.S. soldiers who have sustained debilitating emotional trauma and depression.
A series of scenes chronicle their entry into a psychiatric hospital, their treatment and eventual recovery.

Not today, I haven't. The current analysis indicates that in 2014, an average of 20 Veterans a day died from suicide.
