Over the past decade, Mikey Schaefer established new routes on the seven major formations of the Fitz Roy skyline. Along with Duct Tape Than Beer, he created a stunning video about Patagonia and a place he calls home.

I've never been to Patagonia. For years, I've heard Mikey talk about the place, about the mountains, about the weather, about Chalten. I brushed his talk off but seeing this video has really inspired me.

Maybe, some day, if I can become bold.

James you don't have to be bold to climb there! It is a great place, go no matter if you want to climb hard routes or hike. It is freaking awesome for everything, including eating and hanging out!

I went for just under 3 weeks and can't wait to go back sometime. You should too man!

The Fitzroy/Torre Massif absolutely rocks! I've seen nothing that compares. Mikey has certainly made his mark there.
El Chalten is an unfortunate addition to what was a pristine area....but, alas, nothing remains the same.

Glad everyone is enjoying the film. It's been fun for me to share an honest look at something that I and many others care so much about. So often today in climbing media it is all about drones, slow mo, spray and the send. I find that love and honesty are often squashed and over shadowed by larger productions. It took a community of dedicated climbers to make this film and they are the same ones it was made for. Big thanks to all of those people and the community that makes it so special.

^folks talk bad about recent expansion of Chalten, but the mine-roads and dump-piles (not the city) associated with the intrusion are more starkly evident in that image. Great photo, juxtaposes the immensity of the place with the immensity of human greed/need. thanks for sharing the photo.

En total, Mike, you're totz cray-cray, and you may be one of the best idols we locos have got. Proud.

PS - thanks for introducing the term "folks get a little overstoker'd" to me.

Great film! It combines all the best of "that looks awesome!" and "that looks terrible!" in a way that makes the terrible look even more awesome. It did an excellent job showing your passion for the region and climbing, and your love of sharing both with other people.
