Any one have any data? The BD website gives none.
I'm a little curious about the design of the cable location versus the big ass hole that one would typically use for clipping in a biner.

3kn on the cable mark.
I replace the originals with 1/8th" or #3 cable.
Seen falls on every size of BD beaks, but not with the original cables, I never trusted them.

Thanks for the info, back in the day I used crack ups for free pro. Sketchy at best but the only thing that fit. We did not bolt the lime stone

Crack-n-ups can be really good. Have taken some free climbing falls on them and, surprise, surprise, they worked!!

Mucci, when you add the bigger cable do enlarge the hole it originally went through or do you go through the bigger, already existing, other hole?

Factory cables are bunk.
I stopped buying BD crap a decade ago.

Bd puts 3kn or 675lb breaking strength cable on all sizes of beaks.
The #2 and #3 beaks are solid and can handle huge falls, well beyond the cables capacity.
They classify them as "body weight only" pieces, where they have the capability to handle much more with a bigger cable.
Tomahawks have #3 cables standard.

Interesting. I was wondering if the thin pecker wall below the cable location would support a larger impact force. Has it been tested with the larger cables?

I am not aware of any formal testing on the cable hole, vs the carabiner hole in terms of the cable placement.
Caught a few medium size falls >40ft with no issue or breakage after swapping out for the larger cable.
Ammon talked about a descent winger on Aurora that was arrested by a #1 with the original cable...Yowza!
