I am offering a $1000 reward that leads to the ass-kicking and recovery of my climbing gear, stolen from the top of Eagle Peak.
Bolting equipment, draws, ropes, trad gear, BLACK DIAMOND HAUL BAG.

The list of who the dirt bag(s) could be is quite small, since very few climb there, especially over the top.
If you are the sh#t head who stole my stash, man up and return it to were you found it.

(BTW, there is no way some tweaker, hiker or boy scout, would happen stumbled upon it. No way)

Sorry to hear that happened. These days though, there are definitely more people making the trek out there. Fantastic place to climb.

Is any of your gear marked?

Also, any chance someone (another climber) doesn't want you developing out there?

Which of the 200,000 Eagle Peaks was involved?

Hope you get your gear back.

I assume the one in San Diego. Warbler has done much of the work out there.

I'll be definitely on this. Like Jeff said-There is NO WAY a tweeker wanders out to that crag to get gear stashes. This is the erosion of integrity and ethics that is starting to hit San Diego climbing hard.

Was the stuff left there for the day? Or longer?

Hope you get it back.

I sure hope the supertopo tools do not start babbling endlessly about not stashing climbing gear.

Supertopo tools are the worst tools around .....

Uh, Jeff? Come back here. We need some clarification now that "new" possibilities exist.

Stashing has always had a risk associated with the act.

I have had thousands of dollars of gear stashed in remote places while working projects. I always assumed that it is my job to hide it in a place where it would never be found.

IF it was ever stolen, I would have failed at my job and have nobody to blame but myself.

Using the same stash for years is not always the best option.

Of course, it is a personal choice.

Thieves will get what's coming to them.

It's all part of the game.

Hope there is a happy ending to the story, losing a lot of gear is shitty and would piss me off to no end.

I hope you get it all back Jeff. Can you post any photos especially with your markings? People need to just leave other peoples sh#t alone. Doesn't matter how long it's been there, leave it alone. Theres a cliff up here where there is a full rack stashed for at least 10 years that I know about, it has been used by many folks annually and left by many folks annually.

Might be time to change out the ropes:-)

Are there dangerous loose flakes there? I only made it out there one time. I'd love to go back but was wondering if a crowbar is required?

In my projects I just take the key to my Bobcat with me when I stash it.

Sandstoner's a whimp. He only uses a screwdriver to pry off loose flakes, or is that oldschool? My gym teaches proper loose flake identification and removal techniques so I know what I'm doing.

4 years, 4 months, 4 days. Whats the difference? It's been there for years, cuz we use our stash to climb when we go out there. No amount of justification for a thief is welcome.

Did I mention they left (2) 200' static lines? I guess that would have made the haul bag to heavy for the weakling to carry out!!

I was going to take my gear to Mainland Mexico in 2 weeks to develop a limestone climbing area, near some stellar surf, I had discovered last year. My local friends down there are really anxious to go climbing, (when its flat).

Now I get to purchase all the gear that was stolen.

Thanks a bunch!! Real classy!!

I hate thieves!!

4 years, 4 months, 4 days. Whats the difference?

If I stashed gear for four days (and I've done this many times) I'd be real angry if it were gone.

If I stashed gear for four years I'd be astonished to find it still there. I'd be pretty philosophical about losing it.

Hope you get your gear back. Found out myself a year ago how expensive it is to replace a big rack of climbing gear after my truck got broken into.

4 years, in the same place?

yeah, sucks for sure, but not impossible that it would be gone.

Hope you get it back.

Actually, after four years I'm "astonished" it's gone, considering where it was .
Its apparent I need to lower my "level of trust" of others.
