Chaz posted -quote: "For decades, people in California have voted to take other people's money by force. This is only a natural extension of that. Once you start taking property from people, it's only a small step from there to take someone's life."
If it's true that a lot of taxes are taken by "force" (and that's not just California is it?), then shouldn't it follow that the government should already be whacking people left and right? Are you arguing that we are heading that direction.......??!

This thread is funny.
zBrown doesn't know that a donkey IS an ass and what he posted is a mule (and a beautiful one).
And StahlBro posted a photo of what looks more like a jenny than an ass.

Just please don't paint "Christians" with this brush.
As a Christian, I find the proposal outrageous and embarrassing to the cause of Christ. This is NOT a theocracy, and "Christians" that want it to be should know better!
So sorry.

There has to be a couple Billion Christians in the world madbolter1, I don't think anyone is painting all of them with the same brush that God used to create the guy who started this ballot measure.
On the other hand.....LOL (sorry, I won't go there)

It'll never get on the ballot.
I know a guy who circulates petitions ( for cash ), and as of yesterday, he hadn't heard of it.
Unless The Pros are gathering signatures, the chances of an initiative making the ballot are next to zero.
This is just being done to punk Kamala Harris - and it's working.

LOL. This is what I get for speed reading.
It's true, no petition stands a chance without paid signature gatherers. In a state like WA, you can expect about 5% of your petition signatures to be gathered by volunteers. The required signature formula is a percentage of the number of peeps who voted in the prior gubernatorial election, so it increases with population and voter turn out (which is very high in WA because we have the most convenient, inclusive, and tamper proof voting system in the nation - mail in).

If we're to believe the statistics, a percentage - higher than you might think - of straight doods favor the girl's arse over the Sanctioned Port of Call. What are we to do with those sodomites? Or is a female fair game for any kind of fiddling, while the man-ass is a regular killing field, according to this proposed "legislation."
I have never made even the slightest effort to further gay rights, which is my fault, but I've followed the rhubarb in a casual way and have noticed some interesting and patiently silly myths and psychological games that keep masquerading as truth, even now.
First, normally intelligent people, who in all other things defer to the experts and to those who work in a given field to draw their conclusions - all this goes out the door with the anti-sodomite crew. The only authority is centuries-old religious texts, and all other evidence is dismissed as stuff simply made up by man. When pressed about a gay person, notice how you will NEVER find a gay basher who will admit that homosexuality simply, normally and naturally occurs in the modern world. Sure, there are people practicing homosexuality, but these people are sinners who are deluded about their true nature. True nature is straight - meaning there is no such thing as a natural born, "God-created" gay. No such animal actually exists. Just us straight folk who have been hoodwinked by screwy impulses, weed, gay porn, negro music and lack of discipline. In this way the anti-sodomites dodge any meaningful discussion about the topic by insisting that in reality, there are no legitimate gay folk to begin with. That's called denial.
The second angle is one we see trotted out by anti-free soloing groups and individuals, who tell us they cannot sanction any no-rope work lest they give the wrong impression and might, quite by accident, encourage behavior that can potentially kill an unwitting climber. Of course there is absolutely no evidence for this deadly-influence model being anything but a concept. Free-soloing is self-policing by virtue of the sh#t-producing terror of getting off the deck on hard ground.
Likewise, the notion that people straddling the fence per their sexuality are "encouraged" to get after that bung hole by dint of gay marriage and so on - well this is nothing more than scare tactics. All anti-sodomite sentiments do is keep people closeted. They don't have the power to change or otherwise "corrupt" a person's natural-born tendencies.
Lastly what makes any of it my bid-ness? Or yours? Lest you are furthering freedom and diminishing shame, you're not doing humanity proud, in my opinion.

It's all of our bidness because, at roughly 6%+ of the population, homosexuals do not have the numbers to secure their equal rights. If you're not doing anything, at the very minimum voting, you're part of the problem. No different than standing around watching your neighbor's house burn down.
Pretty much a modern redux of the Civil Rights movement (which is far from over, of course). Same idiot rhetoric, same basic principles.
I was 8 years old when the last miscegenation law was repealed in the US.
Between 2004 and 2007, 21 states passed same sex marriage bans - many as constitutional amendments.
We can do better, but that's a lot harder if half the population won't lift a finger to help.

"Between 2004 and 2007, 21 states passed same sex marriage bans - many as constitutional amendments."
That was consistent with President Obama's position at the time. Obama has only very recently *evolved* his own beliefs, and he's pretty damn liberal.
