hey there say, all...

just saw some neat places, and this was one of them, ...
just curious is anyone had climbed there...

or even just hiked there...

NICE looking alps... for art, at least... very lovely countryside, and
and harsh looking rocks, there...

I have ridden my bike through there a couple of times. I really like Slovenia. A nice 3-star hotel in Bovec was 30 Euros/night breakfast included. BTW, you should check out Bovec. It's kind of like the Boulder of Slovenia. If you are into WWI history, down the road from Bovec is Kobarid where the Austrians and Germans broke out into Italy. Very historic.

The big mountain to climb is the Triglav. It is right down the road from Bovec.

Bled is also a very scenic place to visit, but I don't know about any of the climbing or hiking in that area.

Was going there 2 yrs ago, but couldnt. Did lots of research though, Triglav, Razor, Spik, and many others looked real good. Contact member Borut, he lives there. Has a thread on here about the local sport climbing. The cicero guide is great, amazon for only a few bucks. Doesnt have rock routes but has all other info and many hiking routes, etc.

Going to Croatia in late april, climbing in Split, Omis, Paklenica, and Brac as a rough plan.

There was a guy from Slovenia that has posted here a few times. We traded a few PMs. I'll see if I can find the reference or old emails. I want to go there as that is my ancetorial homeland.

Bled's a good base. Been there twice. I'd contact these folks..there are a couple of climbing shops in town.

+1 for Bovec. A good way up Triglav is to start from Trenta (20k from Bovec) and take the Plemenice Route - 4th class or clip into cables. Good rafting round there too.
