FWIW, when you watch the UKC link, it is very apparent that Tom and his Dad are achieving this on a meagre (to say the least) budget.

Quiet excellence at it's best!

Congratulations to Mr. Ballard for an alpine tour de force, and for the poignant tribute from a son to his lost mother.

In the link to UK Climbing article that Blakey posted, there are a couple of the last photos ever taken of Alison Hargreaves. The photos were taken by the great Colorado climber, Rob Slater, who had roped up with her to make a summit bid, before they both died in a terrible storm high on K-2.

The photos were recovered years later from a camera found with Slater’s body.
