Just heard the 4th, why i have no idea coulda been open weeks ago, they are working on the section of road between crane flat and white wolf like last year and have paved part of it but there is a nasty rumor going around that the asphalt is bad

several inches of snow falling in the Meadows and on the road last week didn't help.
Snow turning to ice as soon as it hits the warm road.
I'm surprised their sched has only slipped 4 days.
Guess I'll have to go over Sonora or Carson tomorrow afternoon. Probably Sonora.
Come back over Tioga next week.

Maybe it will open sometime before it gets too hot to bother?!? If it doesn't open this weekend then that means it will open later than last year.
I find it hard to believe that the 2-5" of snow they got early this week wouldn't take less than a day to clear out.

The road is clear, I can see online that people have been riding bikes into the meadows from Tioga.

Just got word via Mono Lake Committee:
"At last Wednesday's local government meeting here in Lee Vining we
got the official word from the Yosemite National Park Superintendent
via our Mono County Supervisor that Tioga Pass will open on Friday,
May 1."
