Last year for my wedding we rented a waterfront home at Pine Mountain Lake. Not quite as close as you are asking, but it was a great spot for two extended families spending a week together. Not sure what it will be like after the big fire, but worth checking out:

I stayed at a really nice house here on a large family vacation. We actually had so many people we got two cabins.

It's less than 15 minutes to Mariposa Grove and about 40 minutes from the Valley.

There are some really nice cabins east? of Wawona along the lower Merced. Don't remember the name of the management agency, but it was pretty sweet. 15 people may require 2 cabins. Have fun.

Evergreen Lodge,i s a really fun & great place to stay, it has a library/reading room, game room, big court yard, bar, Dinning Room , store and,sewing area.. very close to the 120 entrance, nest to Hetch Hetchy...,a tiny bit of a drive to the valley..
