Has gentrification taken hold there yet? Do I still have to bring my own coffee, pesto and aged gruyere?

Yes... all of the Mule Skinner's have taken up the finer things in life, like Espresso, fine red wine and finger sandwiches, so the items you listed are in short supply in Bishop.

That town needs a Trader Joes.

So Mark, next time I go up, please dial in some good weather for me, OK?

Vitaliy - come on over, weather couldn't be better.

Jim - Paris - New York- London, a person needs those things to make it worth being there. This is Bishop we have everything you need.

Guy - I'm working on it. I did pretty good last time you were up.

Timid - good question. We were getting lots of chilies in our CSA veggie box, but thats over till next year.

Timid - after tons of research, done by "she who must be obeyed". Swabs high sierra chilenos are gone, they are now in Lodi.

I can see the day when a Silicon Valley corporation, responding to the frantic competition to attract top employees, opens a campus in Bishop.....lot's of PHDs love an outdoor lifestyle.
The spillover will be enormous....look for a Whole Foods in Lone Pine before the end of the decade.
