Maybe we should just keep bumping this thread until the next get-together is announced?

Mike-

How was the Rebar Route down? I've been kinda' put off by downclimbs ever since 2010 and my little accident. I still have infrequent bouts of Post Concussive Syndrome, especially when looking down; intermittent touches of vertigo. That makes me want to rappel when ever possible (good anchors, easy rope pull, etc.).

Added it "edit.": I would have rapped on that eyebolt in a heartbeat. I'll bet it was drilled in at least 4" and probably 6" before being cemented.

Downclimb with or without the rebar ladder off Bath rock isn't bad either way.

If you were a bit wobby, you could always just hang onto the ladder.

Standard descent after post cocktail flip flops solo of the Cowboy Route...at night...ha ha...

Brian: I have no doubt the Cowboy Route has been soloed in flip-flops. It hurts me to think of post-cocktail hour night-time flip-flop ascents, but I agree the rebar route off is fun.

Brokedown! The rebar route is easier and safer than the "walk-off" route from Decadent Wall, that we enjoyed on a November evening a few years back.

The routes on Bath Rock- front and back -have been done by ranchers in Cowboy boots!

Let the contest begin...

The back is the south side (rebar route), the front is the north side (cowboy, cowgirl and cowdog). The west side --you are correct have not been done in boots.

Kristen, it was nice to meet you. Masha and I really enjoyed listening to your wealth of info about the local history. Somebody needs to keep Donini in line! LOL. You made a nice addition to our wide ranging group of misfits. I don't get around as much as I would like but COR seems to have a unique and productive relationship with the user groups there that I find quite refreshing.

I dunno kids...here's a shot from google earth. I'm seeing the rebar route nearly dead center in the formation, and, nearly due west facing.

Cheers!

Rodger, since you are so interested in the rebar route, here is a shot of the crux of it.

Pretty mellow really.

Ok, here are some shots from our last climbing day.

11worth joined us for our last day at Castle Rock. We were hoping Big Time would be in the shade still, if we got an early start, but instead it was in the blazing sun.

Looking up at Little Time

11worth and Vegasclimber racking up.

I wasn't too stoked on frying in the sun, so i let the boys climb and i took some photos.

Looking back at Almo

11worth and Vegasclimber on route.

11worth getting off rappel.

Vegasclimber coming down.

Approaching Hostess Gully

Looking down the gully

We decided to go up over the notch to get back to the car. Here is Travis in the cool hole you pass through.

Travis and the Crack House.

Liking the Lichen

VC and the Poultry Pillar

West face of Castle Rock

The flowers were in abundance.

We were all pretty beat and the heat was getting to us, so we hit the parking lot.

Thanks again to Jim for climbing with us! It was great to hang with you!!
