7:00 am this morning. Six inches and still accumulating. At 5500' , one range east of the Sierra in northern Nevada. What does your area look like?

Any reports from the mountain areas of B.C., Washington, Oregon, California?

Looks like the ridiculously resilient ridge might have temporarily broken and/or moved west in the pacific to allow for northern cold fronts to flow in.

EDIT: what about today Tad?

This is the base of the Mt Spokane ski area, elevation ~4600'. It's been closed since early February. Nothing in town at 2800'.

I just spent 3 hours yesterday shoveling snow a few miles north of Boulder. This is after a January in which we had many days of 50 degrees followed by an inch or two of snow followed by 50 degrees. If it had stayed like that for another three days the fruit trees would have been blooming. Now they've all got blackened buds they'll have to regrow. Very strange weather.

The good news for Californians is that the snow pack in the Rockies is either normal or above normal which will yield a normal flow on the Colorado River and the water going to SOCAL.

9:50 update from the center of an apparently local region storm. Eight inches and counting. Should give some respite to the dismal Tahoe ski season. Grab your gear kids and head up the hill.

EDIT: looks about the same at Strawberry Chuck
