hi

I am going to yosemite this spring, flying from Norway april the 18th.This has been my dream for over ten years almost since i started climbing so I have great expectations!! And now I am watching movies and youtube videos from the yosemite almost every day !

however, almost last minute my partners plans are changing, as it seems now I will be in yosemite from april 20th to may 1th or 2nd without partners to climb with.

I see three options :
1. find a partner in camp4 (I'm afraid its too early in the season ??)
2. hire a guide for some bigger climbs (really expensive ?? )
3. solo aid climbs some routes while waiting for my friends to arrive

Any recommendations ?

I have climbed for about 10 years, sport, trad, ice and multi pitch. I have done one wall almost el cap size but much easier, with mostly 5.9 and 510 trad. I have done a dozen or two trad routes from 5 to 12 pitches. i guess my onsigth trad level is between 5.9 and 5.10. and i have done maybe 15-20 1-3 pitch aid routes solo(a1 and maybe A2).
are there any hopes of getting things done ? I have guaranted one trip up elcap with my friends, but I really like to do more for my once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to yosemite.

any feedback are greatly apreciated

You'll have no problem finding partners in Camp 4. It is definitely not too early in the season. Try posting here and at mountainproject for partners right before you show up and I bet you'll find a partner.

Thx a bunch for good and quick feedback.
really appreciate it guys, you just given me another great impression of climbers and people in the valley

Another thing, i may be wrong, but i thougth if I arrived before may 1th
the 7 nights maximum in the valley havent kicked in yet.

I have been told i can camp for 2 weeks in april, and then the regulated seven days the first week in may, rigth or wrong ?

@knut: your understanding of the time limitations for camping in the Valley appears to be correct. If you could find a place to camp that is not in the Valley and not at Wawona, you could camp for a second week in May within Yosemite National Park. See link below.
