I've been looking at some high country webcams and the snow coverage is pretty dismal . We havn't gotten any rain or snow in over a month and it's been really warm (at least here in Bay Area)

I'm wondering if the powers that be might consider opening Tioga Pass ? Or what the snow coverage is like in the meadows . I'm just recalling a few New Year's ago when the road was open , or reopened , and people were driving across Tioga in early January ...

It is doubtful that it will reopen until April, or later if it ever snows. The NPS has myriad reasons not to do it, and very little incentive to do it. I flew over the Sierra last week, and the roads over Sonora and Tioga passes were mostly clear. It is reported that there are only 8" on the ground in Tuolumne, and while flying over there were many bare spots apparent. I too wish the NPS would open it back up.

I've seen some recent pics of ppl climbing in the meadows and it looks amazing right now.

Good year for winter ascents for sure.
