You know they are having meetings right now about what to do when
the next drone comes over the fence. Foremost in their planning is not to
look like keystone cops chasing the drone doing lazy figure eights over
the lawn before going viral on youtube. Secondly is not to start shooting at
it and killing a tourist by accident.

Drone pilots should be required to meet the same level of licensing process as any other pilots, and be held to the same standards of law.
Yes, it's all well and good until somebody puts their eye out, or somebody
else's. So, Dingus, would yer proposed license test include the currently
mandated emergency landing component of the private pilot test? If so,
then the White House drone pilot exhibited good judgment and skill in
putting it down without endangering anybody else.

Lets be reasonable about this. The only way to catch a drone is with
another drone. They need to develop drones that can
launch autonomously, intercept the intruding device, and drag it to earth
all within seconds of detection. Not impossible but tricky and very profitable for who ever wins that government contract.

They throw turkeys into jet engines for testing bird strikes.
Time to start chucking drones in also.
Forgot how many 10 pound Canadian geese got swallowed by Cap Sullenberger's
Airbus to kill it.

the thing the turkeys and geese have going for them is they don't have a battery that will burst into flames when exposed to air.
