i'lll be there at least for saturday.

1st weekend of coachella hell, though-- scott and rob can't come. tix are too expensive cuz of the coachella bullshit not to mention rooms.

many years ago i helped haul generators back into one of those canyons for the local low desert gig and drifted in/out of a few others. so i'll take a (tiny) slice of the blame for the coachella bullsh#t.

OK, Todd. You have won me over on this one. Your heart is Solid Gold.

So, my wife, 17yr young daughter & I will leave NW Montana on Friday, 3PM right when school gets out and plow straight thru to your place in our Sprinter van. It'll be ugly but we should show up around 1PM or 2PM. Please give us consideration for the glazed look in our eyes after the 22 hour non-stop run. It's a cargo van, not a plush and quiet Sportsmobile!

I have a hundred dollar bill in my pocket I'd like to exchange for a place to park (at least for the party night) and some good, personal beta on the park. Preferably that would include one day of Joshua Tree touring. Get to hang together and basically point us at appropriate routes. You wouldn't have to take care of us.

I have climbed at J-Tree just twice in years past, mostly around the Hidden and Real Hidden Valley; very little in a nut shell. I will also be looking for inside beta on scoring a campsite I suppose in JT. We can stay and climb probably till Thursday.

Thanks for putting this on,
Arne Boveng

Edit- I don't know Tom nor ever heard of him but he sure seems like a nice guy and so much loved. It's gotta be good. I can't wait. I will do whatever I can to help with the cause.

Arne;..cool....glad you can make it. If you leave on friday at 3 Pm..and drive for 22 hours....you will probably make it in time!....
Ditch school on friday and get out there at a reasonable time on sat.
Call me up if you need any more convincing.
I know you are used to the awesome perfect rock of stone hill (and kila crags, right?..)....\
We only have low angle dummy domes...
Let me know your travel plans.........see you soon.........(ditch school on friday......).......
I will be climbing that week after the party too;...this next week;..probably not.
So I'm sure we could get a day out cragging......call me up to talk about this and your schedule
(760) 835-1078
talk to you soon..

it IS an evening gig......if you leave at 3 PM and it does take 22 hours.....we will see you just in time!
.......(I climbed an afternoon at kila..it was fun....stone hill ;...many days there;...I love the place).
Try to get here by 5 PM on saturday.........i guess you can get here in time if you drive straight through.........that's crazy;...but we will see you on saturday.....(I still say take friday off........then you can stop to eat on the way here...)...
see you soon..

Sorry to confuse you;......Arne;....you are correct;...you will be there in time if it takes about 24 hours.

see you soon.
Drive safe;.....and don't speed;......if you get here before 5 PM.....you are golden.

Par-ty.

Forecast;....72 degrees and
17 MPH winds
Bring your kites

(Actually ..the evening forecast is 50 degrees and 10 MPH winds....so bring a jacket too..........)..........
so;...warm and windy during the day
brisky and a small breeze in the evening.
Looks like beer drinking weather to me....
maybe some live music, a slide show, pizza and beer, and porti-potties, tequilla bar, massage table, raffle prizes, classical guitar, jazz music, and mexican/folk/gypsy/ska/rock music....
Maybe some climbing stuff for sale, silent auction or raffle too....maybe...
looks like a fine evening for Tucker Tech to drink a few beers (I may ask him to keep track and see if he tops 50........)....

Hey Todd - Forgive me if I didn't look well enough, but what time should people come by for help with set up and prep? I am happy to help with whatever needs be done.

For donations, I will have two ClimbAddict chalkbags, and will also make up a $50 Shopping Gift Certificate for my beaded jewelry shop, Talisman Too. Not climbing-related, but climbers DO sometimes like to dress up!
