Why do I suddenly want to throw a baby in a Metolius 1/2 Dome and solo?

I mean it seems like the obvious thing to do

yosemite hard and softman extreme special, linkup 3 different yosemite walls with 3 different babies?

Interesting to see Hondo humbly ground supporting this effort.
Dollars to doughnuts he unleashes another jaw dropping solo in the next few months.
Just let the dust settle a bit and you'll be saying Dawn What?.

That was priceless.

I agree with those who say they both did fine. Her questions weren't that bad.

Alex is patient and cool. It worked out just fine.

I mean c'mon, she was versed in Kevin's struggle, Wino Tower, Tommy waiting, Alex pimping the family up there etc.

And she was straight enough to know that Joe Schmo at home would probably need the baby in a backpack thing followed up a little bit.

Hell I'm impressed that Alex kept his hands in his pockets and wasn't all air climbing the whole time the way we always are when we talk to each other!!

"Wildlife sighting" was freeking priceless.

I want to see a mashup video song of Captain Kirk making love to the mountain and Alex getting the baby up the mountain.

Climbing: What did you think of the infamous “Honnlove” interview?

Kevin: It is the best thing that came out of this whole affair.

Climbing: It was fun for us in the peanut gallery to poke fun as mainstream media tried to make sense of it. “Using only their hands and their feet” is something we heard countless times. What’s the funniest you’ve seen?

Tommy: The “Honnlove” piece on ABC. That was my all-time favorite for sure! [Laughs.] When he was talking about “Yeah, it’s just a 25-pound baby; you can just put him in the backpack.” [ed. The reporter had asked how Alex might get Tommy’s son, Fitz, to the top of El Cap.] Man, that one was great. Not to mention the fact that they called him Alex Honnlove. So good. Classic!

He is kind of a jerk to Hazel Findlay in his new South Africa movie, he tells her several times that she is overweight and should try harder... Seems like his ego is getting the best of him in this film. Sad really.

Really? Are you serious, or trolling/guerrilla marketing? ;-) I just watched the movie and didn't see anything like that. Once where Alex jokes "you are highly insulated" and she replies, "you always say that". Its normal talk between friends. I don't see where this relates to "overweight". At the beginning of the video, Alex describes Hazel as being the hardest woman climber in Britain. Hazel says that Alex is highly motivated and pushes people to push their limits. That's not being a jerk.

Thanks for getting me to seek out and watch this video that I hadn't known about. LOTS of incredible rock in South Africa!

Highly recommended 52 minutes, "Africa Fusion": https://vimeo.com/ondemand/africafusion/104027455

Totally agree that he was definitely bad to Hazel, but I also totally enjoyed the film and Alex. I don't agree it's ego with Alex. He is just way different than us, if I can speak for us. haha Autistic, maybe? haha Even with Cedar you get the impression Alex is pretty much in his own world and not real tolerant. Of course, I don't know him, and when I met him in Costa Mesa he seemed very nice. But, it isn't all that implausible that he snuck down here from the mothership for a little climbing and so doesn't really have human social interaction down as of yet. haha

Come on you amateur video editors, time to make a parody version of the Honnlove video!

Ok so she didn't know anything about climbing but... I don't see anything funny about the interview except the fact that they got his name wrong in the print version. They got the baby's name wrong too btw.
