I think Stevie Haston is a hoot no matter what he's flogging. But the gadget does seem like something of particular interest to photographers, who might want to go up and down fixed lines a lot.

In real life (Iīve played with one at a show) itīs a hassle for photo shoot/bolting applications, it would be more for `alpinistsī on easy-angled fixed ropes.
The difficulty is you have to insert the karabiner, unweight the lower jumar to release the cam then hold the rap line while you release the upper jumar. Locking the thing when you want to stop is more complication. With a Grigri itīs just unlock the upper jumar and away you go.

This is a better descender than the Grivel as you can put beer in it.

It's pretty hard to beat the one ascender, one grigri method for photography and route development INMOP
