Can that route be top-roped using one rope?

There's a thing for that.

It's called a hypsometer. The "hyp" is for hypotenuse.

Right out of the box I was able to nail the height of the flagpole in front of my folks' house - 19.5'. ( I'd add about five feet to that measurement, to account for how high off the ground the thing was when I pulled the trigger, but it has a mode that does that itself if I wanted it to be that exact, which would work for figuring out if pitches can be rapped using one rope )

One of the guys I was flying kites with last month had one, and it answers the question of how high the kite's flying, although everybody was more interested in how high our cameras were flying. It worked great for that.

Go out on a sunny day.
Measure the shadow of a yard stick.
Measure the shadow of the climb.
Set them equal to each other.
Cross multiply and divide.
