No joke on that kask! I've seen Mucci hammer quarter inchers in with it when he's rampaging.
I'm not sure my hat size, but I wanted light, and the BD Vector expanded a fair bit and still fit my noggin. Worth checking. Some REI's have them.
Get black and spray paint it white if heat is an issue. Or custom colored unicorn rainbows.

I've got both a big noggin, and a Kask helmet for work at height. Best fitting burly helmet ever. weighs about the same as the old Petzl ecrin rock, But fits way better. The chainsaw company Sthil bring them into north America with their branding as their top of the line helmet. I was able to buy mine from a local forestry supplier for $30 less than rescue supply companies.
I would highly recommend it.

I run a 7 3/4" head size so hats and helmets are always tough for me. The best fits for me are the Petzl Meteor and the BD Vector. Try them on before you commit. Ecrin Rock used to be my favorite.

My head is big and misshapen, and I wore the larger meteor for a few years. Newer version seems to fit less well, but the bd vector sits lower than even my old meteor.

Get a plastic bucket. Buy some foaming agent.
Put head in plastic bag and then in plastic bucket,
Fill around head in the bucket with foam.
When foam cured remove head and remove foam and shape excess foam.
Spray foam with proper sealant, add straps instant custom personalized brain bucket.
You get the idea?
Get to work ........

Werner,
The foam hardened and now the bucket is stuck on my head. I used triple expanding foam and it's pretty deep in my ears and stuck in my hair. I drilled out some holes for my eyes.(that was kinda scary drilling toward my eyeballs , but one eye is still fine. Thanks for the tip. Any suggestions for getting it off?
Edit: I see now that you clearly stated that I should put my head in a bag. My bad. Next time.

Heard you don't need head protection for Swallow Crack in the Pinnacles, but you do for Clamydia at Castle Rock.
