Looking to get an upgrade this season, my choices are the Cassin X-Dream, BD Fuels and possibly DMM Switch.

I love the handle on the Fuels, get great sticks with the Fusion and Fusion ice picks.

The X-Dream's handle needs a bit of getting used to, I only used them once. But the sticks are insane, zero effort to get bomber sticks and that was without head weight using the mixed picks!

The DMM are an unknown, I'm getting a pair to try out soon since there's nearly no info available on how well they perform. checking them out in the store, they seemed on the heavy side. Does anyone have a pair here or tried them out on a few outings?

Thanks,

I'll go back to using my Terrordactyl before I use Pulsars even if I only have the hammer.

Grivel Quantum lights are the best ice tools I have ever used. I mainly climb alpine ice, but it can get pretty technical at times.

Thanks Scooter, I already have the Petzl Quarks (new) as an all around/alpine tool. The Quarks are killing me when doing WI5 and higher (I lead WI4 with them).

What's killing you about the newer Quarks on WI5? I love 'em. Christ look what Dropline was originally climbed with...

The new Quark picks suck balls IMO out of the box. Just a little tuning needed.

XDreams are the most insane ice tool i have ever used. Easiest sticks, easy to clean. Nice big handles for my clunky hands. Nomic grips are too small for me.

The angle of the handle, there's a lot less pump when you're using an angled grip.
I was running laps on a WI5 WI5+ (slight overhang curtains) with my Quarks (Nomics head-weights, no hammers, pick modified to copy the X-All Mountains), my friends Fuels (modified laser picks) and another guy's X-Dreams with the stock mix picks.
Getting up that face with the Quarks was desperate at times, then I tried the other tools, what a difference.
Yes I can go up WI5s with the Quarks (Been doing it a lot last couple years at Poke-O Waterfall and Lake Willoughby) but I've topped out a couple times a bit too desperately for my own good, some help from a more technical tool will be welcomed.
