But I need meds? Awesome. You sir, must surely be the epitome of morality.

Apparently you do. Nope, no morality issues here.

Thank you Jim, you apparently are one the few who not only have a sense of humor, but also has a firm grasp on reality.

Sorry johnnyrig, but you must have suffered a head injury. Working SAR means that I witnessed the aftermath first hand. I've dealt with the grieving friends family etc. You know not of what you speak.

Look, I'm not going to do a Hooked On Phonics lesson for you. Clearly you cannot comprehend the topic at hand. Just stick to your crayons and coloring book.

Seems clear as crayola:
Hunters shooting themselves? Funny to you.
Climbers getting injured? Tragic to you.
No?

Tragedy can be easily averted by requiring every hunter, climber, anyone participating in a risky activity, to be an organ donor.

You ever tried it?

It may be more challenging than you think.

The organ donor thing reminds me of a story:

Years ago, I had just renewed my drivers license and filled out my organ donor card. My girlfriend had just dumped me and I was very butt hurt. About a week later I got pulled over by the CHP for speeding. He asked for the usual license, insurance etc. He starts smiling and is desperately trying to keep from laughing. He then says to me "Mr. Fonda, you can't donate your girlfriends organs in case of your death". I had completely forgotten that I did this.

He let me go with only a warning.

gotta love their jargon.

I shot a double birdie.

But that's an eagle, too. You're busted, federal crime. Fork over the keys to your 4WD golf cart, sir.

I worked in the booth at a trailhead which is used by hunters this season, and was surprised when one told me he never loaded his rifle. He goes ut there, to be alone and commune with nature, and for SOME reason, just doing THAT isn't accepted in his circle. So...he goes out hunting and gets the last laugh when his "sporting friends" make fun of his bad luck.

Another couple of men, they come out nearly every weekend starting in August, just to look around These men are archers, and yet in the several years they've been coming, they haven't once brought out a deer. These guys spend money on all the accoutrements, too, but something tells me that if one moved away, the other would not be back the next year. It is their time to spend as friends.

As for most people being aware that humans are NOT better than animals, I would disagree. I would go so far as to say that the VAST majority of human beings DO believe the human is dominant. Look at the way they throw away pets. Look at the way they run over animals o the road when just taking their foot off the pedal would be enough to avoid the poor thing. Look at the ones who INSIST animals cannot reason... science supports this, they will tell you.

No....MOST people do NOT realize that we humans are not superior to the other animals.

One difference between your "golfing" and hunting, T Hocking.

If you miss, it's always to late to yell "Fore!" if you are hunting.

My club went off in my hands a lot when putting, though; I did this many-many times, rolling the ball way the other side of the cup.

Killing for pleasure is the sign of an inferiority complex or psychosis.

Killing to eat is natural. Vegans kill plants.

With regard to veal, torturing something before you eat it is bad juju

I don't do veal. Fortunately, never developed that taste.

Did anyone else see the article about vegetarianism and killing sentient beings?
http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/ordering-vegetarian-meal-there-s-more-animal-blood-your-hands

Yes, it's more applicable in Australia where their cows are naturally grazed, but is still something to think about.

Hunting.... My dad still hunts both bow and firearms. Rarely takes a shot anymore, does it more for the experience. I miss it too. Sitting in the woods just relaxing, watching and listening with no distractions is something most people just don't get to do these days. I'd kill for a crisp evening in my old deer stand, just chillin'.

Edited: I didn't realize this was an anti-hunt thread. Those stories about people shooting themselves are the equivalent to climbers who die climbing.
