He received a kidney transplant.

This kid may need a funny bone someday. For now he is still kicking.

Of course organs are transplanted before death. I know a kidney donor and I offered a partial liver, but was turned down. Too old. They want say a twenty year old low mileage model .

Fet nailed it.

My body is going to ash and strewn about on 108 crags, Pinns, Josh, Wyoming, and Eastern Sierra (and anywhere else my friends would like).

Hellz to the yes. I figure that I can take over control of the host body and continue my nefarious plans.

You'll be dead.

What difference does it make where your decomposing tissue goes? Are you enshrining your fingernail clippings and ear wax?

In California, the donor dot sticker stuck on a drivers license was just a symbol of intent, not actual legal consent. (A sticker is not a legal document) But you could and can sign up officially as a donor at the DMV. These days the reddish dot is part of the printed license, not an added sticker. You can do it at the DMV or

Because of the donation of a liver, I got to keep my cozin for an additional 18 years. I will risk my kidneys being disected by medical students to give someone else a loved one for even a year. That said, in my state organ donation is different from donations for research or teaching. Those donations train our doctors and other health care workers. They save more lives than just organ donation, but in a whole different way.

My guess is that most of us are. Also...if you're not on the national Bone Marrow Registry, please also sign up for that. It extended my older brother's life for several years. Thanks.
