I'm looking for an easy access area with some easy (5.4 - 5.8) terrain that I can set up 2-3 top ropes for a small group (up to 10 people).
Ideally, it will be reasonably close to a road, but quiet and not buzzing with traffic.
I can lead the route to set up a top rope for others, trad or sport is welcome, then I'll be belaying the beginners- so no worries about them being up-top un-roped, etc.
Definitely hoping to avoid crowds, so it does not need to be a great crag by our standards, and can be short, I'm thinking even 30', of course taller is better, but whatever...
Most if not all these people will probably have never climbed, so a 30-100 foot 5.4 to 5.6 or so will be fine for them, it's more about getting some people who sit behind desk too much out of their comfort zones and in the mountains...

I just bought "Phoenix Rock II" and will be there to do recon next Tuesday PM.... hopefully I get some ideas from the SuperTopo crew by then -

Try climbing at Little Granite Mtn north of the McDowells. There are a few crags fitting your needs. Easy approach, no traffic and easy to TR.

When you say Phoenix area - can you be a bit more specific? Being the 6th largest city in the Country it can take an hour to get to one side of town to the other (East Mesa say to Goodyear) and hate to waste your day driving to a crag where closer alternatives are available.
So where ya'll staying - that will help in some good group options. Will you have all day or just a few hours?

It will be a 1/2 day outing-
I'm looking for the ideal area 1st and will then find a nice hotel for us to stay at and meet as close to the climbing as possible-
I'm more familiar with the Scottsdale area, and it looks like the granite suggestions might work if we stayed in north Scottsdale, or maybe east of Tempe for Queen Creek.
