I never watch 'em, but why not check out something really creepy.
We're not into slasher flix, more of the mind-fuk type. Any ideas?

Crackle has a halloween special where you can watch some additional movies for free.
[Rec] is a really good Spanish language camcorder flick, sort of like Blair Witch, but not shitty.

Romero's 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead is also really good.

If you just want psychological horror with minimal onscreen violence, Rosemary's Baby is one of my favorites.

Check out Pontypool or Tale of Two Sisters.
David Lynch does creepy horror pretty damn good if you don't mind being confused and not knowing wtf is going on as far as a plot goes (I am a idiot). Lost Highway and Eraserhead are good ones.
Another good one is Trollhunter. It's Norwegian and one of those "found footage" movies but I thought it was really entertaining. Sorta creepy, I guess but sorta funny too. I wouldn't call it a horror movie but it's a great one for halloween.

Jacob's Ladder is GREAT.
So is The Shining. Looking for something made within the past couple of years...

The Conjuring was worth the hype I thought. Not very original, but a good entry in the haunted house/possession genre none the less.

Long time ago a movie called the "Innocents" with Deborah Kerr from a book by Henry James... made me reluctant to watch horror movies ever since. Don't watch it as it can't be unseen.

Wolf Creek is scary, but if you're not into slasher movies, it might not be good.
It's pretty unrelentingly grim, graphic and torturey.
I'd recommend:
REC
Paranormal Activity (the first one)
The Descent (has climbing in it)

The Kingdom; "One of the 1001 movies you must see before you die."
That's creepy all right. Wonder what happens if I don't see it.

Halloween
Amityville Horror
The Exorcist
The Omen
Psycho
For kicks I'll include Blair Witch Project. I saw this at the dawn of the Internet age and remember rushing home to find out something, anything about the story. It was creepy while I sat there watching it in the theatre. My friends and I were all scared. There was no advertising for the movie, people were all just saying it scared the sh#t out of them.

We just re-watched Evil Dead II, and now have to rent Army of Darkness. Glad we don't have to wait 9 years this time...

I'd also add Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire to the Lynch list. Don't expect to understand either of them, but there is a sort of dream logic to Lynch's movies. Supposedly, he takes inspiration from his own dreams and I think that Inland Empire is the closest thing to a 3 hr nightmare that's ever been put down on film. Don't worry, even the actors didn't know what it was about.
