Alp d'Huez as decisive stage 20, right before Paris.

Man I couldn't believe how far they slid along the road. Serious road rash. Let alone how close they were to light pole sanctions.

Bike racing is bad ass . . . look at that carnage and tell me these guys are not tough. Only 18 more days to go!

I don't have cable, any idea if I can stream it?

Getting to see a couple of stages in person as a kid was a great experience!

No kidding tough, one guy popped his dislocated shoulder back in and continued and another finished the stage with two cracked vertebra.

Even if you escaped with just some bruises and road rash, miles and miles of cobble stones today will be brutal.

There was some amateur carnage this Sunday too. GMR/GRR closes every 4th for fire prevention. I rode up to Baldy village from the house Sunday and got off the hill about noon. Some were using the lack of rice rockets to try to beat Strava.

About one there were two crashes, one from a blowout resulted in six broken ribs, the other ended in a broken pelvis, facial fractures and a helicopter ride.

Does anyone know if there is still play-by-play coverage somewhere on the web? Charles Pelkey used to do a terrific job on Velonews, but there's nothing this year.

As the camera panned through the stopped race the ripped shirts, shorts and grazed body parts was a sight to see. It's so disorienting to see the perfect colorful kits all in shreds.
Tough barely begins to scratch the surface of these guys and this race.
As one stat put it....the ascent....like climbing Everest....twice.

This is why I have TV.

Some months I wonder, and think about dumping the satellite.

What a race! The last third was over roads paved by The Romans ( Napoleon scheduled them for resurfacing, but then he got busy doing other things ). Both the German and the Frenchie had their share of adversity, but the German didn't quit, and ended up winning, while the Frenchie threw a series of classic Euro-hissie fits, and lost several minutes.

Great racing at the end of stage yesterday! That uphill finish had everyone attacking. 23% at one point!

I was wondering about this. I didn't even realize it was going on until day 2.

It's The Best Tour Yet !!!!
Every stage so far.. all the top contenders are battleling it out,
so awesome.

If you don't like the tour.\,,, please refrain from commenting here, we won't mind.

If you are into the Tour.. Please don't post about today's stage until after 6pm Pacific Time, don't give away the winner/stage highlights until we all had time to watch it.

Thanks, a longtime Tour enthusiast that will watch every stage with glee

The thing i love about the Tour dey France is that they won't let the italians hang onto the team cars like they do in the Giro...
