Climbing the sierra, a smile a mile. I heard a soft music and stopped for a while. Rising up though the air.. It sang for me..It was the sound of nature's symphony.

It feels good to say I know the sierra but of course you don't. What you know better is yourself and the sierra has helped. We leave part of ourselves, we take sand in our cuffs, rocks, moss, acorns, pebbles, flowers, photographs. but is a picture a tenth of a thing? A hundredth? is it anything without the smell and the breeze and the warmth. OH! but i got all that too!! it's exposed forever on the sensitive emulsion sheet of my mind.

there's a dead spot in
the grass,
up by conness.

where some aspiring beat
emptied yellow bile
that should have been
a dream catalyst
but instead killed his
local climbing ambitions
and gave that headache
between foggy eyes.

all in pursuit of poetry.

One generation passth, another generation cometh, but the Earth abideth forever.
