We have the longest border in the world that is not militarized.

We have (most of the time) very cordial relations.

We are really one community in someways (and not in other ways, but neighbors and friends will squabble from time to time).

I believe the US and Canada balance one another.

Jennie (Irish) and her late (English) husband (RIP 1990) had an exhibition business for some years in Toronto. Outside of the very mild winters (hah hah) they loved living in Canada.

I know that I live in Ireland now, and I will never give up my US citizenship, even though shortly I could become a dual national (US and Ireland), but I just want to tip my hats to the Canucks, yuck yuck… well it rhymes.

The Russian jets off of Alaska recently drew response from both Canada and the US. We are team in someways, IMO. We have our differences, politically, cuturally and…

To all the Canadians that are Supertopians, thanks for being good neighbors. I hope you can say the same.

Several decades ago we crossed the border into Canada enroute to the Bugs. We stopped at a gas station in the Great White North. While gassing up, a Canuck asked if we were from the United States, eh? He said, "Welcome" and gave us a bag of weed.

I live close enough to the Canadian border that I spend a fair amount of time whitewater kayaking on the mighty Ottawa River with my Canadian bretheren. They are a fine bunch.

I say we should ATTACK! and take over their oil sands so that I can pay $0.20 less for gasoline when I fill up my jacked-up 10 m.p.g. monster truck that I need to commute 1/2 mile to my job.

You guys are nasty. Okay we attack Canada.

Then there will be Canadian terrorists (outside of the pot farmers in BC) in the midst of the US.

Good scenario, ripe for a movie.

Canada, it's your move, there are some rabid Americans looking to move the 49th parallel a bit further north.

"Squamish is ours," they scream." And the Bugaboos, too.

"Achtung", Canada is next on our proud American list. Canada belongs to America.

Well, it does. North America.

But we know that California is the real power (spoken as a true Californian). We RULE.

Canada watch out. California will rule you too.

EDIT

What do you Canadian people know, a Commonwealth (I think) beholden to the queen. I met her once when I was a journalist in London, very, very briefly.

But the late Queen Mother, what a gal, a gin lover. We had a laugh over coffee (her's was tea, don't think there was gin involved).

EDIT

The late Queen Mother, English but really Scottish. She was a firecracker, colorful (uh, colourful), I was working on The Lady as a sub-editor, first male journalist since its inception in 1885. The late Queen Mother's favourite magazine. All "chiefs", no "Indians" (apologies to native Americans). There was the Editor in Chief, the cookery editor, the garden editor, the travel editor the etiquette editor, the…

A lot of editors but no reporters. The Queen Mother (late) dropped in and we all had tea, or coffee for about an hour. She was a gas. I do not support any monarchies but if I did, the late Queen Mother rules. She was a darling and a gas.

Small little thing, what 5'2", I'd guess. But her sense of humour, her "niceness", the way she treated us as equals. No pretensions, just a fun woman.

Jim is heading for Squamish to recon the area for an American takeover.

JIm is an expert at this stuff. He sees a potential new route, and he attacks.

You British Columbrians have met your match. You cannot stop him at the border because he is CIA (Climbers In Abroad), wait a minute, he's not always in a broad. His wife would not be happy with that.

And when will you drop the British part of BC, are you still British? There must be a better name.

However, look at yesterday's results, re: Scottish independence. The No vote won, for better or for worse.

But Jim is of Italian heritage. He will have to wonder, will the north of Italy want to separate from the south. The north makes most of the money, the south is run by gangsters, hah hah.

Patrick, I appreciate your humor.

Seriously though, I am ready to defend California from the Columbrians invasion. They shall be driven back into frozen wastelands.

Hey Patrick. Don't wory about the Russian aircraft intercept. I'm not sure why that was even made into a news article. We have been doing that to each other all the time for DECADES. It's how we and the Russians learn each others Radar systems , upgrades and general readiness.

It is very much a non issue. Normal day on the border.

Both countries still make some terrible beer. Thank Dog for the cottage beer industry! Amusing video that reflects traditional Canadian sentiment :)

Cimbski2, yeah I know it has been going on for decades (sort of sad), sort of like a game of chess, I suppose. China is also in the game, so what is a three-way of chess called?
