Thanks for supporting Clint and Cliff's study. Yes, I remember the Quick crossing. With Quicksilver funding it, and the study ship being the Indies Trader, I suppose the results were about what you would expect from such a partnership. I have higher expectations of Clint and Cliff. Fresh out of Grad School and excited about their respective fields of study, if they get this $50K grant they will be somewhat independent from most corporate pressures. Except for the pressure to produce results. Yes, they will play hard when given the opportunity. But they will work hard as well. The monies will not go as far as you might think, and the extra support from Scripps institute will come with expectations too. I've already given Clint most of my old info, and the two of them have discovered some other interesting areas all on their own. At 57, the thought that occurs to me is that if people step up to try to take stewardship seriously, let 'em give it a shot. And the first step is to document what we have and try to establish a baseline. Nobel? Maybe. Maybe it's just people stepping up and taking some responsibility. And in the process they get to surf their asses off when the wave are happening.
