Mark your calendars, paint your faces and chalk your shoes. The annual Tollhouse FaceOff is only a month away.

The Great Dome of Tollhouse is east of Fresno, near highway 168. The annual FaceOff marks the end of the summer broiling season and the start of the winter climbing season.

Friday afternoon and evening we will be setting rappel routes to the base of the dome and setting top ropes on many classic climbing lines. Come out, explore and climb.

In the evening enjoy great camping, star gazing, and stories around the camp lantern.

Watch for updates!

Why does my schedule rarely work out for these events?

I just went to Tollhouse for the first time last weekend. Drove up the serious four-wheel-drive trail to the top of Sunday slabs camp there. Awesome place it rain that night but we had a weather window and it's him climbing on Sunday. You guys in Fresno are lucky to have that resource so close to town.

Sorry for the messed up typing, my phone is acting up

Hey Vitaliy
Top ropes on power dome would be a lot more fun! :)
But a lot colder and maybe a lot harder to get to now that it is snowing up there.

Tollhouse Faceoff kicks off the winter, low elevation climbing season. Climbing below the snow and above the fog.

But I can probably come up with something extra interesting for you, Vitaliy, if you really want.

It would probably take something like that to top Mark Haymond's ascent on cross country skis with ski poles, Mooch.

I can't be there Friday night, but I really hope to make it for at least part of the time, for once.

I know of skis, night gown with heels, nude and complete wild land fire gear (non-modified whites boots). What other outfits have been done?

The original (on or before 1973) was roller derby uniform with roller skates, and baseball uniform with metal cleats. They switched leads but not footgear.

I wanted to thank everyone for the fantastic Tollhouse FaceOff this year. I had a great time. I found my lost wallet. I hope the three climbers were able to get their truck unstuck. I will connect up with Paul and Holly to get my shovel back.
