Hard to tell what was happening / has happend!

About 2:00 p.m. from Bridalveil, one could see a chopper carrying a load fly over El Cap and re-appear into view without it.

At the same time there was a group of climbers below the Great Roof in the Grey Bands and another above the Roof near Camp 5.

Shortly thereafter, we went to the Bridge, and the YOSAR van was already parked near the Bridge and El Cap Meadow.

By the time I got to El Cap Meadow (just after 4:00 p.m.), there were folks on the rim at the top of the Nose with ropes leading downward toward Camp 5 and Camp 4.

Near Camp 5 was a group that appeared to have a litter bundled and ready to go up or down.

A group at Camp 4 was hauling stuff upward.

I'm sorry that my pics don't meet the usual, expected standards and that I couldn't stay to watch what came next.

I can only hope that any injuries were minor and that all involved were safely taken off El Cap.

Any news from elsewhere?

I spoke to John Dill w YOSAR who was assisting from the meadow. It was the party at Camp 5. Said the leader fell and hit the ledge and had a possible back injury. He and his partner were hauled to the summit separately. Hope all is well with the injured climber.

"possible back injury"

Was it hurt or not???!!!

I hurt my back on El Cap once, lots of people do. But call for a rescue, because it might be hurt? Lol!

Someone else got plucked this season because they thought they hurt their leg, turned out it was ok. No injuries at all, but got rescued.

If you THINK you are injured....you're not.

If you KNOW you are injured....you are.

I have to agree with Jim, I've injured myself a number of times over the years. There was never any question in my mind if I was hurt or not.

If you KNOW you are injured....you are.

If you think you're NOT injured…but your partner is looking at you ashen faced…you might need to think again.

I usually find that when the non injured party is throwing up, the injured party probably needs a band aid.

You might be injured if;
-you are bleeding from the ears.
-your trachea changes position.
-something is severed
 you see dble.....and don't normally.
you don't know what day it is and Ann Coulter looks hot.
there is a pool of blood but you feel like leading.
