One of the best men in the world, John Dale, my partner for the Pacific Ocean Wall in 1980, is a New Zealander.

Yes, I appreciate NZ very much!!!

hey there say, Avery... thank you for the kind email... just saw it...

say, also:

are you folks in new zealand STILL having bad aftershocks from the earthquake, etc, years later...

stuff that still shakes up homes, etc, when folks least expect it?
a friend of mine, heard from a friend, that THESE continue and make
things pretty upsetting for lots of folks, in certain areas...

was curious, thanks, :)

sure APPRECIATE wow, how folks carry on through all that... whewwww,

Good Question...

I've been to NZ twice.
Once as a young boy with my family on the way back from 4 years living in NSW, Australia (on our way to another 4 years in Kona, Hawaii) and then just a couple years ago with my own family of 2 daughters and wife.

Both times I had the best times.
Geographically NZ may be the most perfect country IMHO. It has everything (and a lot of sheep-Baaaaaa).
Almost a CA stuck way down in the S.Pacific, except without all the people.

And, some of the greatest folks on this planet.

I've shared this before on another thread...
I snapped a few images that only scratch the surface of our time there in this link.

I love New Zealand. Been there twice, once in the winter and once in the summer. Got certified for Scuba and enjoyed some of the best dives, got put in a hot pink tyed eye jump suit to jump outta a plane over Lake Taupo(Kiwi humor to stick the guy from USA in pink when the rest were blue?), did the craziest caving in Waitomo (We were the last group through before they shut it down due to water levels), Snowboarded out of Queenstown (personal favorite area), checked out Milford Sound and flew over the Cook Mountains, caught huge rainbows in Rotorua and Taupo, did a class 5 waterfall I think 21ft drop. The list goes on and on, but for the adventure lifestyle, NZ is hard to beat. Oh yeah never met anyone who wasn't genuine and upbeat. One last thing, they call their beer piss, so don't get offended when they say "On the Piss?"

Loved it, can't wait to go back. We even managed to walk most of the Milford Track, one week prior to the official season opening. Imagine Yosemite, but no road access, and knowing that the five people in the boat with you will be the only other people in the entire valley for the next three days, and with crazy alpine parrots. Great climbing too, but the views were too distracting for me to focus on the climbs.

Beautiful country, you Kiwis are spoiled.
