Not sure why I signed up to be in a FF league this year, but I did. Now I'm damned confused on how I'm supposed to set a line up using the stats I have.

Any of you other time-wasters play Fantasy Football? Want to give me tips???

I've been reading lots of blogs and espn columns, but they assume I know anything about football, which I do not.

Well, I consider myself fairly knowledgeable and I just don't get FF.
Seems like a big circle jerk. What's next, Fantasy Chess?

Sign me up! Let's do a drum circle too.

Sorry, the show The League is as close to American "Football" I get.

Actually The League is pretty much the only reason I signed up. I just r-watched the latest season and I understand the football jokes a lot better!

Mostly I'm just looking for one more thing to be mediocre at.

I would love to have a drum circle, but the drums have a dickhole in them, I'm thinking I could do 2 things at once! Oh the BASS!!

Fantasy Football helps you keep your interest in most of the games being played as you'll have players from multiple teams. The way the leagues are set up now, they're very user friendly, even for those who are fairly clueless. Avoid picking multiple players from your favorite team. You'll regret it when you have a bye.

Heh, good luck, then! If it makes you feel any better, it's easier to play fantasy football with no knowledge of the game than it is fantasy baseball.

Who's on your team, and what's your league's roster set-up?

My Team name is SuperTaco (after taco from the league, but super and like the climbers forum where people don't talk about climbing)

QB Matt Ryan, Atl
RB Matt Forte, Chi
RB DeMarco Murray, Dal
WR Julio Jones, Atl WR
WR Andre Johnson, Hou
TE Jason Witten, Dal
FLEX Joique Bell, Det RB
D/ST Rams
K Blair Walsh, Min

Bench
Ben Tate, Cle RB
Stevan Ridley, NE RB
Knowshon Moreno, Mia RB
DeAngelo Williams, Car RB
Anquan Boldin, SF WR

I've been trying to figure out how to use the OPRK (opponent ranking) to help decide which players to start:
e.g. Knowshon Moreno has a PRK (position ranking) of 5, but an OPRK of 22nd
Demarco Murray has a PRK of 8 and a OPRK of 7th. . .

Opponent's rank is going to change week-to-week. Based off the players and numbers that you gave me, it looks like it is the player's opponent's rank against that position: in week 1 Murray is playing the Niners, who are the 7th best against the run, and Moreno is going against the Pats who are 22nd against the run. So the lower an opponent's rank (i.e. the higher the number) generally the better for you. Of course you still have to take into account stuff like the fact that NE is going to hang 35+ points on Miami so the Phins are going to have to pass a lot more to keep up, devaluing Moreno.

What additional resources should I use to decide which player will likely be a better flex? I've been using sbnation, but I don't think they take the team's match ups into account. . .

walterfootball and ESPN are where I go for most of my information, but I use them mostly for just the player statistics they provide to make my own decisions rather than trusting their forecasts. Both are more reliable than Yahoo, though.

My bench killed it this weekend, my starters. . . not so much. I should win my weeks HTH though since my opponent played Cam Newton!

Come on Chargers.
