Don't worry guys. I charged him $90.00 to rent a couple old Nalgene bottles and a half empty poop tube.

Be careful Scott,

There have been other very gracious ST'ers that have gotten burned. Some even death threats.

Just sayin... :)

The dumpster option is looking pretty attractive.

Hang the ledge from a tree in yer back yard and take naps in it,
you know, re-purpose it.

Geeez Micronut this is like Warren Buffet renting mountain bikes to descend the Nevada Mist Trail

Now that is wisdom.

If you want a real website for this (or any other) business, I'll hook you up. That's my business. Got a real Supertopo climber who can prove it. Email me, I'll send you a link to his site.

Sent you a pm about next weekend. Not sure are you still renting it out these days?

Sure signs of a fuctup economy.
There is a car "for sale or rent" on the local bulletin board.
Never seen that (piss-poor) before.

There are little smart cars that you can rent in san diego, I know a few people that use them on the reg just to get to work, its convenient but its not worth it in the long term, they charge you per mile.

Speaking of "community" services I've been thinking about starting a mobile mechanic service marketed towards dirtbag climber types and vandwellers, or essentially people that don't want their dirtbag trips cut short by car troubles and having to spend a grand or two just to get home. I'll accept payments in USD, cases of beer, cams, and belays.

Micronut. I did the rental biz for awhile but stopped for various reasons. I can throw some beta your way on that biz if you like.

Hey Jane, I'm sending you an email as we speak but the ledge is all yours for your upcoming wall! Basically, I haven't "rented" it since I started this post.....I just keep loaning it out as I can't seem to bring myself to the point of charging anybody. It has been up el Cap via a few routes and guys have taken good care of it. It is in The Valley bout this, I'll tell you where to pick it up (it is with a friend who lives there) and your "payment" is to bring it back to me in Fresno when your wall is done! How does that sound?

I think I'm gonna nuke this thread and take it off the market. Its starting to show a bit of use and it has been fun to share it with strangers and hear of their success and failures. It has seen some nice terrain, but I don't want this thread to keep showing up on GOOGLE searches for "Portaledge Rental"!

I'll shoot you an email soon and we'll get you dialed in. I admire your stoke and your grit and look forward to the TR.

Take care,
