Many more people have sipped mint juleps from hammocks than from portaledges....and, from all reports, with an adequate amount of comfort.

I've always been lucky enough to sleep well in a hammock. The big issue compared with a portalege is weather protection.

Please, though, take a poop tube or equivalent!

Another vote for cutting your teeth on WFLT. Good ledges at 4, OK on P9, and the top, and lots of fun times.

The Prow could be done as well if going solo (P3 ledge is crappy for 1, would be terrible for 2). P8 and P10 have marginally OK ledges too.

Bring a good bivy sack regardless.
