ST is a mix of young and old(er) climbers, covering decades of time, several continents, and diverse experiences. if you're like me, certain photos take you back (in the very recent past, or the WAY past) that consistently evoke strong, positive/meaningful memories.

I've posted this one before, and even though it's only a bouldering shot (and not actually even on the boulder), it's a picture of deep friendship during my earliest years of climbing (that continues to today). I've got it framed in my home office, and helps to keep me psyched on the friendships I've made among climbers through the years:

If you were to post just one climbing-related image that consistently takes you to a positive/meaningful place, what would it be?

(And yes...there's plenty of climbing now, and in the future, and we're not talking about dwelling in the past.)

Hey mooser,
Really nice post.
Aargh, these "pick one" questions...
I had a shot in mind with a post that would mirror your text- my oldest partners and best friends, a real stoker, sentimental value, sick crushing ;-)

But then I got to thinking.

There is nothing like making it back safely to your pack and have your best friend waiting for you and smiling, a feeling that's gone hand in hand(paw) as long as I've been climbing.

Thanks for the exercise mooser!

drljefe - Sweet!

I'd love to hear from a little narrative from y'all on why your pics are significant for you. I'm a context guy.

I pick this one, as it's Nose-related.Tom Rhorer and Ben Richardson put in the anchors and made a rap route on the Nose in the late sixties and that's when I showed up in the Valley, but I never met him. I met both him and Ben at Facelift 2012.

Lilabiene, the Doltish girl, drove me to the Valley for that Facelift. It was her first trip to the Valley and I was pleased to be able to help her find her way there and so on.

I didn't get to meet Tom Evans, who generally hung out at the Bridge doing his El Cap pics, until the next spring. I don't think he was at the Bridge the day this got taken, or I'd surely have met him.

And finally, this trip to Facelift allowed me to meet several of you Tacos, as well.

Edit: Credit this to Odd. Pretty sure I asked her to snap this one.

My first trip to Yosemite with my best friend as fresh kids out of school. A wonderful summer, no pets, no kids, no responsibility. We fancied ourselves dirtbags. A time I'll cherish forever.

The finest partner I've ever had the opportunity to climb with, on the most memorable adventure we could imagine. Two shots of the same moment -- the moment we realized we were going to live, after three days of believing there was no chance...
