I'm going to use this to my advantage. When the young, much better and fitter climbers start bragging about the things they have climbed, I'm going to say something like "Oh yeah? I've done climbs that you will never climb". If the disagree, or ask which ones, I'll just reply with "The Cobra".

i like the way folks are surprised.

randy sort of pointed out the obvious-- those things are MADE OF MUD. yr CLIMBING MUD. part of the joy/fun/thrill/self-loathing part of it, is getting onto something that's basically built out of dirt and snot.

stuff makes willis wall look like the gunks.

Jimmy Dunn called me and said it was the 1st time one of his routes fell down. He told me that he used to solo it.

No way would I ever do that climb--Spooky!

I first walked by, and photographed it, over thirty years ago, back in '83, and have been wondering why it was still there, ever since!

Corkscrew would be sweet....but then the foreclosure rate for local guides would go thru the roof.

Looks like Cliven Bundy's militia shot it off its pedestal, I saw an ATV towing it back to Nevada.

They did it for the children!

The best thing about this is the 7:00 am breathless call I got from Jimmy Dunn.
