I'm not sure if this is fake, however I have always thought that this thing would fall sooner than later. The overhang at the top was spooky.

Anybody got real verification of this?

I'm calling BS. Super easy to clone stamp the summit boogieboard out of that pic.

Think I'll head out there with me dag and go see for myself. I'll be back with pics in a couple hours.

edit: It did rain like a mofo out here all night and in Moab, so maybe??

That would make a cool coffee table.

Edit: Susan, that would be one muddy hike right now.

It's a fun boulder problem. Never committed to the last moves though, that would be scary ropeless.

A Mormon Boy Scout leader must've pushed it over.
(wow, I wrote that before I looked at the linked site)

Yep, folks, sad to say that it's true. E.T. has finally phoned home. These are only phone photos so pardon the poor quality.

Looks like it broke off at the base of the "neck". Must have been spectacular to see. The debris blasted that boulder sitting beneath the base ledge (you can see it in the photo Susan posted above) about 20 or 30 feet. Took out a juniper, too...

I searched the rubble for a bit to try and find the pin (wasn't it a baby angle at the break?) or any other fixed gear but couldn't see anything. I only searched for about 15 minutes, though, because my dog was getting too hot and wanted to bail.

Pouring one out for a fallen homie. RIP COBRA

I felt a slight earthquake early one morning a couple years back in the Fishers. I figured it was from all the nearby oil and gas drilling. There's probably 10x as much of it going on today as just a couple years ago. It's the first thing I think of when I see those photos (of the Cobra, not the tits).

Cuz Jeremy wouldn’t stfu about his presence. When I joined the site I remember having conflicts with some of the users. I think we worked out most of our differences, like adults and now usually get along fine. Not sure why Jeremy felt it was the right thing to do to take the toys and go home. His TRs were awesome. Actually, Jeremy is the wise one. This place has been so negative lately that I feel like leaving would probably do more good for me. I am excited about climbing, talking about climbing and being around mostly positive people. I get that while I climb with friends etc. Than I look around here and see people trash talking other climbers, their style etc. Kind of discouraging to deal with negativity. OK, I am not as fragile as I make it sjavascript:doSave();ound… : )

And regarding the Cobra. I can find you a big stack of loose rock on top of a spire, right here in Sierra we have plenty. Anyone done the spires by Devil's Crag?
