Really lucky. At one point she started to fall forward but was able to pull it back in. Had that happened, it would have been ugly.

Eaton Canyon is enjoyed by many competent and suitably equipped canyoneers, who stand to lose access when this place is closed down as a menace. Their perspective is about like yours would be, if falling hikers led to closing a good climbing crag.

She shoulda been down-climbing looking at the rock. She was so out of balance when she fell. Butt-bumping, on steep choss, especially, is really showing a lack of skill.

I'm real glad she's lucky. And I'm real glad her companion didn't have to see a worse outcome.

Edit: Good luck fighting the closure.
