With climbing trips coming up with Vitaliy and Mark Hudon and a worldwide shortage of Grossman's Climbitol, I find it prudent to do aerobic hikes in the San Juans that are just out my front door.
It's also a great time to revel in the riot of color flowers grace the mountains with this time of year.Yesterday, Angela followed me up Brown Mt. while I continued on and did the three mile long ridge line to Mt. Abrams.
The San Juans never fail to impress!
As usual Angela brought her camera. The photos are hers...enjoy!
All ranges are sporting color this time of year....post some from your area!

Yep it sure is nice up there this time of year, if you can avoid Thor's hammer.
I bagged a couple peaks and saw some flowers myself, last week up in the Uncomphagre . . .
The San Juans are great! I look forward to seeing more of them, since they are now the nearest mountains to where I live.

Nice Jim and Kalimon!
The most gorgeous mountain wildflowers I've ever seen was on a July 4th hiking and mountain pass trip to Ouray and the area back in 2000.
The only place I've seen that kind of mountain color here in California all at once is on the trail to Bear Creek Spire in the Sierra. Early on in the hike through the lakes.
