I've always worn 43 in LS, and I just bought a pair of Scarpa slippers size 43 that are ridiculously over-tight. Huh?

Depends on the model of course but I find Scarpas fit about a full size smaller than La Sportiva. Rarely do different companies size climbing shoes the same.

Scarpas fit about a full size smaller than La Sportiva That sounds right. I'll be listing them on eBay at a drastic reduction soon enough if anybody wants them (will cross-post). I think 9 1/2 is the actual US size. Thanks all.

Scarpa Techno 39 feels about like La Sportiva Mythos 37 or Syncro 38.

I wear scarpas in my street shoe size but have to downsize sportivas 1-1.5 sizes.

Oddly enough there appears to be a significant sizing difference between La Sportive rock shoes and mountaineering boots.
Specifically in width.
I have a wide forefoot. With most lightweight shoes (sneakers, daily wear shoes), I wear out the outside toe first.
I cannot wear La Sportiva boots. They are noticeably tighter in width when sized properly in length.
Yet La Sportive climbing shoes fit me very well.
I find Scarpa mountaineering boots are a perfect fit but their approach shoes are tight. I wear a "true" size Scarpa boot and a 1/2 size large Scarpa approach shoe.
So I've got Scarpa mt boots and La Sportiva climbing shoes.
I'm guessing La Sportiva boots and shoes are made in different factories or even countries.
