I'd prefer nobody mention my name as I honestly am not sure how he might react.

mums the word dude, will not mention your name cuz we would not want your son to get wind of this even though you plastered your full name up here knowing he reads ST and rockclimbing.com.

Nothing personal, sorry for the bind you are in, but you might have mistaken the generous nature of the SuperTaco for a high degree of naivete.

Bonus points awarded for coming back and trying to clarify things.

I'm baffled but I'm leaving this conversation. This isn't how Marine's treat each other. Then again, I guess there is something about being next to someone and not knowing if someone you both know is going to die or not.

Dad you must understand something first.

This is the internet and tons of scamers use it to take $$$$ from otherewise good trusting people. If you search this site you can find all sorts of examples.

We climbers who use supertopo are mostly older, Yosemite climbing types...

We have all faced death ( in our minds at least. )

Most here will do almost anything to help fellow climber in need.

Sorry to see your Son is having a really really HARD time, lots of it going around now and for the last 15 years or so.

Your Son sounds pretty tough, most climbers will not complain and cry when things go bad.... it never does any good.
This is something we all have learned along the way.

I really hope things get better for him and his Family, we live in tough times, unless one works for the Government.

If you wish to Delete this thread, its the only way to keep your Son from finding this. If he is pissed off at you it sounds like he has pride, one gets that from a dad, you know.

Best of luck

Thank you for your service.

If you're "The Dad" and he needs only 2 months, move him into your house. You say he won't take charity, so he's not going to accept money from strangers. It will be easier for him to temporarily move into your house.

Or just pay the rent to the landlord and don't tell him.

50% chance this is a scam.

I thought there was a 50% chance this was a scam. After reading everything, I think it's a 100% chance.

Read the link and read the posts he posted here. He's either lying on the link or he's lying here. He also is claiming that he hacked into someone else's Supertopo account although he first claimed to a longtime member. But even that claim may be a lie because his avatar has never posted before this thread.

In case the thread gets deleted:

I've not been here writing in a long, long time. Why? Frankly there's a lot to read and it's usually fun. I've been in this community a long time though.

I'm about to ask for something serious though. Nobody is twisting your arm. Nobody is forcing you. This isn't a scam, but if it was there's a special place in hell for people who scam like this.

I'm sharing this because I have been laid off, I've lost work. I've struggled and frankly it sucks. I've also given when I could to things that seemed important to me.

If this seems important to you this family needs a pull up. This family just needs anyone willing to give up $3 or $5 or $whatever to keep them from decking. Like I said, a soft catch...

I watched all of this happen. The dad could put in so much more. They lost so much. Well you decide. I thought in a community that like this, nobody wants to see anybody deck. On belay?

http://www.youcaring.com/willtowinn/

Also, there's no-way I think this community alone could help. So if you want to pass the link around other places go a head. The dad's a climber just like us.

Hi,

I'm dad. I'm tired and it's been a long, long, long road. It started a while ago with news we were going to have a child that needed a surgery after she was born. Would stay in the hospital for a week to recover and then come home with us. It turned into, "She doesn't have enough bowel and we are going to send her home to starve to death and die with you." Things kind of went off the rails from there. Now we have nothing, we lost everything we own. We rent, and we can barely... well we can't even do that at the moment.

You see. I'm a little beat up, warn out, exhausted. My wife is a little exhausted, beat up and warn out. Somewhere in there we have this amazing love for each other but it's buried under exhaustion. Is it our fault we are where we are? Maybe it is. Nobody told me that after working 100 weeks for 5 years writing the same .Net code day after day that I'd eventually get sick of it. I did. Nobody told me that during the trips to the E.R. and the daily, by the minute battles to keep my daughter from dying my skills would get dull and I'd fall behind my peers.

Nobody told me that I'd find the perfect job for us that would allow us to move out of our in-laws house. Where 5 of us had 2 rooms to live in for more than a year. We were elated when I found a job that I could get back on track with. We rented a place (hard to by one after bankruptcy) and moved in. Nobody told me that 2 months after signing the lease my boss would screw up, lose my client who's code I was writing and then lay me off.

So here we are. No credit. No income. I have work in 2 months I just have to make it that long. My boss signed a contract for me to come back on board and it happens not in July or August by in September on the 1st. So we are trying desparately to make it. I'm looking for every job I can find. My wife is too.

I guess I'd like to think we are somehow special. We had a kid that nearly died for 5 years. We lost everything to keep that from happening. We never once asked for help. We tried to fight that one all on our own and boy did we get beat-down. I got hurt, lost feeling in my feet. My son can barely walk thanks to this thing called Sever's Disease. I guess I'm just hoping that other people might think we need a break too. if you do, and want to pass on a coffee or beer and throw us a $1 or $3 here man would I sleep better. I just have to make it 2 months.

To anyone who wants to know more just post a comment in the comments. I'll answer here. Yes, I'm exhausted. No I don't sleep at night. I have nightmares of watching my daughter die. Yes, I cannot wait to work again and no this isn't a long term crutch. I just need to get by for 2 months.

I'll answer any question you have though. I actually just noticed that you can contact me by email using this forum.

Well, I'm the dad. Sitting at my sons computer. My name is Rex A. Winn, Sr.

If I registered an account today I'd have no credibility. My son doesn't know that I happen to be sitting at his computer. I've found this, and rockclimbing.com and two other communities under his communities folder and it remembered his password here and at rockclimbing.com.

I'm "The Dad". Which I truly am, the Dad. I'm a Vietnam War vet and I'm tired of watching my son do everything he can, sell everything he owns, drive a 20 year old car and carry this on his own.

So I'm Rex A. Winn Sr. "The Dad" and no my son doesn't know I set this up as I'm pretty sure he'd kill me. His bank linked the you caring account with his account and he is supposed to get an email with each donation.

I'd prefer nobody mention my name as I honestly am not sure how he might react. In fact I'm babysitting his kids while he and his wife our celebrating their anniversary that we paid for.

I've waited 2 weeks to do this. That's all I know to say. He loves climbing, it's the joy of his life. He loves his family too. We've given them everything we can but for 13 years he never once asked anyone for help.

That's me. That's who I am. Something leads me to believe my cover is blown.

I am "The Dad", he is my son.

I don't care if you are ill. I never asked for this. You want a scam then make it one. Here's the deal. It's whatever you want it to be. You don't want it to be real because then it might mean ... :gasp: moral responsibility. "Oh no. Did I just make fun of a real situation."

It kills me. Yes, I'm here reading all the time I never sign in. I never comment. Someone falls off of Yose it's a big deal. You guys (and I donate to YOSAR) some of you to AAJ, me too.

Those guys are hero's that rescue real people in real danger. You don't mock YOSAR or call it a scam. This isn't either.

I really didn't ask for this. You really don't want it to be real. There we're all even and we all can go to bed. Well some of us can.

But I know there are medical people here. I'm just a joe dirt engineer and I can shovel the code at you. But I didn't learn things like:

Lower bowel distension, and licese of adhesions, and resuction of the jejunum, or TPN, or broviac's or heplocks, or how to find a good vein when all of the other one's are collapsed. I didn't have a stainless steal bedroom for 3 years while she had a broviac and you know why. Because the infection would have gone straight into her heart and killed her instantly on the spot.

I didn't go to the store. Take off my clothes in the garage (all of them) and wipe off with alcohol wipes and come inside wearing a mask until I got into the shower with special soaps that killed everything and made you smell like iodine. God I'll never forget that smell.

But you want to know the truth? I never came here and I never asked for anything. Obviously you guys want to make it a scam because your stomachs are too weak for the truth.

Next time one of you eats it. I'm just going join the thread and say, "Scam. It's ketchup."

God I'm pissed and it's not because of money. It's because it was real. I don't care what else you do or say. I don't want anything from but don't, please don't make my life harder for a second by telling me the reasons I don't sleep, and have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and flashbacks. Where I get out of bed at night and sprint to my daughters bed because I heard her choking only to find her sleeping away.

It's real for me. Just stop now. It's real. I don't want my daughter's life to be fake. God you don't know how much it hurts. I don't want money. I don't want anything. Just stop saying it was fake.

The doctors accused us of that when she was 11 months old and it nearly killed her. She weighed 11 pounds 4 ounces and was just laying on the floor doing nothing and some surgeon accused me of being a first time father. It took more than a liter of fluid to get her back and then it was her heart we were the most worried about. Her veins were gone we barely got the IV in her head from life flight.

OK? It's real. It was, it is. I never asked for this. Lock this thread. God it's so real. I can show you feeding tubes right now next to a purple carabiner and a feeding pump next to a sock. I can take those pictures and show you. Nobody can fake that. Please stop saying it wasn't real.

I've lost too much for this to be a scam. Just lock this thread okay. Just lock it. I don't want anything. I don't at all. I give to Idaho Mountain Search & Rescue. I send money to YOSAR because someday I dream of climbing there. That trip, is one of the few things that keeps me going. I have a dream of taking my son there when he graduates.

That's my dream and I don't even know if I'll get that but it's all I've got. Now that, I'm probably just scamming myself that it will ever happen.

I'm done now. I'm so sorry. I don't want anything. I don't. I don't at all.
No I do. I want the valium I take at night to actually stop the nightmares and the flashbacks so I could really sleep. That's something I'd really like.

God I'm so tired of fighting for her in some way or another. Her name is Katie Winn and she's real, she's 12 and her stomach looks like a topo with a massive hole in it.

Just lock this thing. Please. I want nothing.

I looked at his bankruptcy filing from 2010 (public record), he listed climbing equipment with a value of $500, so that part of the story is true.

Looks like the classic real estate bust BK filing. House and a couple of car loans. Decent middle class income. What concerns me is the fact that there is absolutely no indication of out-of-the-ordinary medical expenses. He has 3 kids. Very little medical debt, trivial stuff, one medical debt was for a child's mole removal?

The house was upside down in 2010, so foreclosure is likely after living in it for a long time without paying the mortgage.

In all fairness I will give him some benefit of doubt as to the rest of the facts, but the deceptive way he has approached this is not a cool way to solicit strangers.

Rex Winn Jr. 208-353-3183. I was posting everything that said I didn't want anybody's money. Katie has Jejunal Atresia. Her small bowel was totally destroyed before her 20th week in the womb. The cause was the blood supply feeding the bowel from the aorta was destroyed for an unknown reason. This caused the bowel to stop growing wherever it was. Nothing got through as it was totally obstructed. Any MD's here will tell you that the bowel is very tacky almost gluey. If you touch it, in all likelihood you will cause adhesions which become scar tissue and cause further obstructions. The only reason Katie lived is because a miracle of the human body. There is a massive blood supply in the colon. Her body, went into survival mode and blood from the colon was delivered into the Jejunum. It caused something that has not been seen in Medical history. If you look up apple-peel intestine and you find the pictures of it today they are my daughters. I gave some publisher rights to use the photos taken by the surgeon(s) when they literally pulled all of her bowel out, laid it on her stomach, cut out the obstructions and then sewed it all together. The real problem is that due to the massive stretching of the bowel Katie's sections don't line up. They bottlekneck. This causes food to obstruct, and spoil. So Katie gets to go through something called an enema where I have to drain her intestines. Then we give her loads and loads of acidopholus and a very potent antibiotic. The antibiotic kills the bacteria from the spoiled food. Giving her more upset stomach. So the acidopholus however the hell you spell it is supposed to balance out her gut health though if you ask me it's never done anything. So now we have these fun spells where she stops eating for 3 days. We liquify her guts, and she eats like a horse. Poor kid loves pop, it just rips her up. Why she drinks it I don't know.

We have a grand ol' time. It'd be a pretty creative dude to make all of this up. One hell of a scammer to be honest. Oh yeah so anyway. Back to the obstruction. The amniotic fluid that was supposed to nourish her during gestation she kept vomiting, and vomiting because it wasn't going through. So it was caked in her hair she had a yellow helmet on when she was born.

Better yet was this was 12-20-2001 and I got to watch firefighters (God I love you guys.) come into the NICU in space suits. They had these huge ass Teddy Bears as it was Christmas Eve and they came to Katie and I. Me trying to hold her through the isolette. They balled for her and balled because so many of them had died in the towers.

Folks good honest people don't make this up. The suffer through it. It's a great time. Seriously though. Call me.

Rex A. Winn, Jr. 208-353-3183 and you can quiz me about it until you are happy. I'm not a Marine. Do not address me as such. My father survived tet, III corp and a whole of crazy sh#t and he's just having a hard time watching me try and fight something I can't. He's sorry. I'm sorry.

Yeah, I'm proud to be American and I'll have one of those until I die. You want to hear how stupid this sad-ass story is?

I lost my drivers license somewhere and I really don't want to spend the money to replace it.

My life is almost comical. I wish I could laugh I really do. I'm just really, really, really tired.

I don't want money but I'd sure enjoy some true rest away from all this stress. It's exhausting. One by one the biggest parts of my life are falling away.

I'm to the point now where I would give all the money in the world for one night without flashbacks and waking up to a bed my wife is no longer in. Fun times.

Gosh I'm just tired. Okay. I think I've done all I can to put out the fire. Seriously, call if you want. I don't mind talking. I have PTSD and the counselor I see says I should talk about it more to people. I asked her why on earth would I want to talk about any of this. I still don't know. Who the hell wants to talk about this crap?

I found our Chapter 7. If anyone wants to see that too let me know. I almost posted it but figured people kind of care about it but not that much.

Hey, I also wanted to thank the few of you who have helped out. It helps. I found a $1.62 tonight in the park using a borrowed metal detector. If I work hard enough I just might pull it off. Thanks to those of you that have given. I think I can at least keep our cell phones on which was kind of scary. I'm not getting work if people can't call me. You guys can call me though. You've got my number.

I think I'm going nuts. Time for bed. This is why I gave up asking people for money. I got my ass handed to me back in that SQLServer raffle. Never again. Okay, I'll take calls tomorrow after 8:30 (MST).

1/3 of all Americans live paycheck to paycheck. It's quite easy to get very down on your luck very rapidly.

Rex, I am so sorry you are dealing with the daily stresses of illness and financial crisis. It is hard to keep going day after day, and I send prayer and good vibes. For the PTSD I recommend reading Waking the Tiger by Peter Levine. It might be available in your public library or perhaps your counselor could find a copy and lend it to you. The things you learn in it could also help your children.

Also, if you haven't learned to meditate, it's a very helpful skill to regulate your brain and body with, and your public library will have some books on it, or at the very least, there will be articles of instruction online.

Peace to you and yours.

This is so weird.

True story or not, if you spent as much time working on your business (or finding a job) as you do on all these forums that you're posting to you'd be a millionaire by now.

If you don't want people's money why are you asking for it on a dozen websites?

If you're a programmer why was it so hard for you to set up a donation page?

If you're giving up then why did you take the time to build a website with a title that you're giving up?

Why did you start this thread in a confusing way pretending to be your own father?

Why do so many links associated with your business and stories on this and other forums lead to dead ends?

Why is your website in japanese?

This is such a confusing and complicated online support raising scheme.

All rhetorical questions, I'm just bored and not tired so I read this thing and did some searching.

The emotional/pathos angle has always worked to deceive and rob most people. It's why politicians, religious leaders, and other types of thieves use it constantly to either push their self-serving agendas or rob otherwise good-intentioned productive people. F'ing predators.

I've got several elderly family members now being preyed on by these dirtbags. They're relentless and know they'll likely never be caught. The Internet is simply a newer medium.

None of this made any since at all because I never read the O.P. he posted as me not as him Rex Winn but me Rex Winn.

Oh $*%_ no wonder people are pissed off. How the hell ...

God where else did he post this stuff. I had to reset my password to get in here and change the email.

I think that's illegal isn't it? That does make this whole thing a scam. God it really is a scam. He's not me. He pretended to be me. I started at the 5th post down.

Sorry to dig this back up but I really didn't understand the "be honest in the first place" stuff. WTF? He said he was my dad. Not in the OP though.

No wonder people are pissed off. I should put his cell phone number up. Call me slow on the uptake. I was reading on the last few posts where someone was like, "If you'd just been up front about who you were..." and I was thinking? Did I say I was Largo?

I might as well. No. No don't go there.

wow. this thread is a doozy. have to go back to the ptc and kiwi dog and pony show to approach the level of f*#ked up avatar use and head spinning combination of possibly real life event and emotionally unstable response to them... while it is an interesting collision of telenovela meets game of clue it's too bad it may very well be backed by a real life horror show...

that said, this last post by onrockandice, combined with his not deleting this thread, makes it conclusive that the guy/s is/are to some degree using real and/or imagined events to scam...

anybody with a shred of integrity would delete a thread that they claim was started by someone impersonating them and is asking for charity that they claim they don't want.

but of course there are still fish with dollars to be trolled and so this thread and the fundraising site will stay...

[a small caveat that is also a bit of a challenge for mr. onrockandice: in case you are the one in a million person who's smart enough to make a living as a coder but hasn't figured out how to delete a thread here's your chance to prove me wrong: to delete this thread all you have to do is delete the first post. so there's your chance... prove me wrong... given what i've seen so far, i won't be holding my breath]

There are key markers for spotting a scam... This guy wasn't even that good. Going into great gory detail about one's "dying child" just isn't something I've ever seen a grieving parent do. The constant pleas for "just a few bucks", the impending imminent eviction, etc. The photo of the purple carabiner against the medical pump was an attempt to ingratiate himself as a real "climber". Nice touch.

Justapose this simple scam against some real tragedy we've seen on this forum like Paul H's case.

But this a-hole did manage to steal over a hundred bucks of hard earned money looking at the scam site.

And what happened to the one poster here that supposedly called and spoke with the dude personally???...

Can't remember his/her handle, but all her/his posts have been deleted...

locker, after I called Rex Jr. and spoke with him, I was convinced the family needed help. As I said, Rex came across as very believable. I won't go into all of what he said, as I don't think its fair to publish all of it on a public forum. After the call I thought that with all the care his daughter needed for so many years, its very possible for things to fall apart....bankruptcy, stress, etc.

I deleted 2 posts, as after my phone call as I thought the Rex might very well be legitimate. One deletion said, "Thanks for letting us know a marine didn't post this" - referring to my doubts that Rex Sr. was supposedly the one who made the first couple OPs.

I also deleted a post that was something like this, in response to:

My son can barely walk thanks to this thing called Sever's Disease.

Sever's disease is a common condition for growing, and especially active adolescents.

from http://kidshealth.org/parent/medical/bones/severs_disease.html

Although the name might sound pretty frightening, Sever's disease is really a common heel injury that occurs in kids. It can be painful, but is only temporary and has no long-term effects.....

Treatment

The immediate goal of treatment is pain relief. Because symptoms generally worsen with activity, the main treatment for Sever's disease is rest, which helps to relieve pressure on the heel bone, decreasing swelling and reducing pain.

As directed by the doctor, a child should cut down on or avoid all activities that cause pain until all symptoms are gone, especially running barefoot or on hard surfaces because hard impact on the feet can worsen pain and inflammation. The child might be able to do things that do not put pressure on the heel, such as swimming and biking, but check with a doctor first.

The doctor might also recommend that a child with Sever's disease:

perform foot and leg exercises to stretch and strengthen the leg muscles and tendons
elevate and apply ice (wrapped in a towel, not applied directly to the skin) to the injured heel for 20 minutes two or three times per day, even on days when the pain is not that bad, to help reduce swelling
use an elastic wrap or compression stocking that is designed to help decrease pain and swelling
take an over-the-counter medicine to reduce pain and swelling, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)

Note: Children should not be given aspirin for pain due to the risk of a very serious illness called Reye syndrome.

In very severe cases, the doctor might recommend that the child wear a cast for anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks to immobilize the foot so that it can heal.

edit: I have a hard time with these issues, due to a sister, who eventually died from heroin addiction and often called my parents with all kinds of incredible tragedies that required money.... none of which were true.

On a somewhat related note, I'm glad to see more and more lawsuits against criminal pharmaceutical companies

Excerpt below from http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-rx-big-pharma-suit-20140522-story.html

Two California counties sued five of the world's largest narcotics manufacturers on Wednesday, accusing the companies of causing the nation's prescription drug epidemic by waging a "campaign of deception" aimed at boosting sales of potent painkillers such as OxyContin.

Officials from Orange and Santa Clara counties — both hit hard by overdose deaths, emergency room visits and escalating medical costs associated with prescription narcotics — contend the drug makers violated California laws against false advertising, unfair business practices and creating a public nuisance.

In sweeping language reminiscent of the legal attack against the tobacco industry, the lawsuit alleges the drug companies have reaped blockbuster profits by manipulating doctors into believing the benefits of narcotic painkillers outweighed the risks, despite "a wealth of scientific evidence to the contrary." The effort "opened the floodgates" for such drugs and "the result has been catastrophic," the lawsuit contends.

The complaint accuses the companies of encouraging patients, including well-insured veterans and the elderly, to ask their doctors for the painkillers to treat common conditions such as headaches, arthritis and back pain.

The widespread prescribing of narcotics has created "a population of addicts" and triggered a resurgence in the use of heroin, which produces a similar high to opiate-based painkillers, but is cheaper, the suit says.

In Orange County, where the lawsuit alleges there is a painkiller-related death every other day, Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas said he decided to pursue the case "as a matter of public protection."

3. Who exactly in your family has "Sever's Disease"? It can't be you, unless you are an adolescent.

4. If your Dad really started this thread, and you are upset about it and that he's asking for money you don't want, why have you NOT deleted this thread? Its the 1st thing that comes up now when one does a Google search for "Rex A, Winn". Do you really want future employers to read all this crap? I kind of want to win this argument. I'm unemployed, about to lose my home. I'm pretty determined.

I don't take the pain medicine anymore. For anyone who's taken any of that. It stops working so you need more and more.

I stopped taking pain medicine and my back pain got a lot better. Sadly nothing helps with foot nerve damage except Gabapentin but it's a generic for lyrica and because of that only works for a few weeks. So I don't take much of anything except Advil and Tylenol.

We had Obamacare Silver while I worked. We paid $430 a month for it. Now we are all on Idaho Medicaid now. Katie will be until she's 18. She's either on SSDI or Katie Beckett. If I'm working it's Katie Beckett if I'm not it's SSDI. Blue Cross is happy to insure her for $4000 a month. Then we learned about Katie Beckett. With that she's got Medicaid if I'm working (and no I'm not working, that's why I now need to remove this because whoever said employers will search for this will find it and that might be bad or good but I'd rather it be neither).

I actually am a developer and I have a great idea for an iphone/android/mobile device app to help families protect themselves from pornography if they want and also internet stalkers.

I'm trying to find venture capital to cover my costs while I write it because it's simple. Uses a very basic proxy to filter for keywords and I think it could really help a lot with going after child pornographers and stalkers. Of course it also stores up to 5 gigs of viewed images on a free cloud account you set up so you can see what images have been on your mobile devices because some of them delete after 10 seconds.

I've got a totally great idea and I think it would make money. I have a very simple game that I think would be a bigger hit than flappy bird was. My problem is that I cannot cover my costs of living long enough (2 or 3 months) to write these things.

Finding work is going to be hard as I cannot wear shoes. I can my feet just burn like in a oven. I can put lidocaine (SP?) in on feet if I want to go climbing and then put chalk on over it (that helps). It doesn't work with normal shoes because there's something about socks that irritates my feet the most. Have no idea what it is.

Trying to get it figured out (I'm actually trying to get disability because I have so many damaged discs in my back.) Anyway...

Who would make this up? If I'm a fake then I'm not behaving like one. Because a fake wouldn't realize that potential employers might google and find this thread and that would suck.

Although, I didn't really start it but it sure has turned into a total waste. It's not like I'm racking up enough money to cover our rent anyway. We aren't.

I have 3 kids. I normally make $70,000 a year. Our rent is $1600 a month. My wife is a teacher, part-time. So she get's $500 a month. We are in a lease. We filed bankruptcy and have no credit. The people who gave us the lease have $2400 up front because of our credit. So we are really in a jam if we violate the lease we give up our money.

I don't know why someone would delete that... It makes no sense.

I have the kids. My wife did go. Things aren't the best. Her ring is on my monitor in front of my keyboard. I can take a picture.

Anyway, why does it matter? None of you will do anything. There's not a darn thing I can do to change this situation. It's a full-on loss. I need to get back to looking for work at flexjobs.com hoping I can find something remote so I don't have to wear shoes. I know. Nonsense, right? Okay.

I'm a real dude and you are right on all that.

I'm exhausted. When this all started I was an engineer at Micron, debt free. Had a beautiful son. Had $250,000 in stock options. The options tanked 1 year before I got laid off/or could exercise them.

When Katie was born in 2001 the doctors told us that she should be home in a week. Then they told us she was going to come home and starve to death with us. Then things went from there. I got laid off in 2003. We had just sold our home (2 years of keeping Katie alive in there was more memories than we wanted.) We had stains of every type on the carpet plus some other stuff. Our insurance company had to replace the carpet because Katie's vomit stains were everywhere and it stunk awful. Peptamin Jr. by Nestle doesn't wash out. So the carpet and padding was done. We closed on the house 2 days after I got laid off. The deal fell through on our next house as I had no income.

We lived in 1 room for 3 months until I got work. I had work for 12 days, long enough to buy a house. Then I was let go when that company let go of the guy that hired me for not getting permission to hire me. So went into panic mode. I started my own consulting company writing software and doing networking (mostly for doctors since we knew tons of them). I worked 100 hour weeks from 2003/2004 until 2010. I had to make $17,000 a month to pay the bills. We lived paycheck to paycheck. I finally collapsed in 2010 when the constant supply of adrenaline (from working, keeping Katie alive, and the fight, put my adrenal system in a weird place). I don't have Addison's but I collapsed or imploded. The chapter 7 seized my business, sold off all the assets including about $1,000,000 in code and 2 severs co-located worth about $15,000 each. In a town as small as Boise when you dump the websites of 20+ customers for good and cannot get them back because they seized everything you own. It ruins your reputation. I had some of Boise's biggest businesses as customers. St. Luke's Hospital, Boise Centre on the Grove, and the nations largest distributor of Night Vision Goggle Systems ASU (Aviation Specialties Unlimited).

I kind of cracked. You really have no idea the kind of stress I've been under but how could you? You've never had to wrestle your daughter to the ground to change her feeding tube. You've never had to pray and sob and hold down your screaming infant because she was totally dehydrated, weight 11 pounds and was going into cardiac arrest because she had no blood pressure or anything else. They couldn't start an IV because she'd had so many in her hands, feet, elbows. They had one last try. Her forehead. So this life-flight guys is barreling down the hall and (I still remember this vividly) I hear everyone screaming to get out of his way. He's got his helmet and mic on, his chest kit, everything. He bolts into the room kicks on this million volt spot light that let's you see through walls. He points it at Katie's head (it's on his helmet) suddenly you can see veins in her head. This is it, he knows it. He looks at me and says, "I'm not allowed to say this but she's going to be okay. I know when I'm going to lose them and this doesn't feel like that." and with that he starts the IV.

More than a liter later, we are still worried about her heart. She makes it. That's one story for you. I have hundreds. Have you ever started a trache in your own daughters throat? I have?

So yeah. I've got that. I've got losing my home that I loved more than anything. 2546 W. Cedar Grove St. only to watch renters thrash my home. Then I've caved in. New my family needed me and rallied. I've done this a lot though and I'm starting to get really tired.

The nightmares get really old. So you are right. I need to learn how to manage this all better but I gotta ask you this. Do you know anyone at all, who's been through all I've been through, worked 100 hour weeks for 5 years. Had their business ripped from their hands, their home, everything? Do you know anyone else you can compare me to?

Cancer doesn't count. People that have kids with cancer have all sorts of assistance. I should know. Katie was always in oncology with the cancer kids because the damage to her intestines meant she had no immune system. She had to get this RSV booster called Synergis it was $3000 a shot.

Yeah, I should learn to lighten up but you just don't know how tired I am at all. You don't. Unless you've been through losing everything. You don't know.

Right now I'm in my house with my kids. My daughter Paige got invited to go swimming today at Roaring Springs a water park. It's $30 and I got to tell her I cannot pay that.

I look around our house and at this moment I have 4 days left here. How much stress would you be under? Do you think you'd Val Kilmer it? Ice Man, "He's ice cold. It's how he flies. No mistakes."

No man. You are right I should probably chill. I'm just having a really hard time chilling because I'm exhausted.

My parents had to go to my moms old workplace today Commercial Tire and apply for credit in their name to get tires on my wife's van. I guess she had a flat and her tires are so bald that Les Schwab wouldn't let her leave or repair it. We don't have the money. However we have free towing. So my mom, went to her old boss today and opened up $900 in credit so my wife could get new tires on her van. If we pay it off in 6 months it's interest free.

Ha! Yeah. I'm trying I really am. I'm just tired.

I've recently had some terrible nerve damage to my feet. I cannot walk. I've lost work. I'm trying to keep my family in our rental. We've been through a lot.

Are you able to walk, or just addicted to prescription drugs?

Could just be a legitimate crazy guy... I weep for his children if they're real.

Strong elements of psychosis in his ramblings. This one stood out:

"He bolts into the room kicks on this million volt spot light that let's you see through walls. He points it at Katie's head (it's on his helmet) suddenly you can see veins in her head. This is it, he knows it. He looks at me and says, "I'm not allowed to say this but she's going to be okay. I know when I'm going to lose them and this doesn't feel like that." and with that he starts the IV."

Hey, I give.

My dad uses soft-catch with me a lot because he and I use to climb together at the black. He'd sit and belay me.

I know. I made that up too fast for it to be true.

Oh and even though we share the same name. I call him "Lewis" a lot. I call my son "Lewis".

All you take care. There is no possible way that I'm ever going to do anything here other than be a lost cause.

It's funny how attack these little edge, boundary things but you don't address the stuff that's *REAL*. Why? Too uncomfortable for you? I know some of you have medical backgrounds. You could ask a question very specific to what I'm talking about and catch me up in it.

You won't though. Because that would demonstrate it's true. You guys can't deal with the truth. You keep focusing on these little stupid things but you avoid the truth like it was never said.

Why? Because if it's true, and all of you know I've put up more than enough stuff to prove it's true. Then you might feel some moral conviction, maybe some responsibility for your words.

Remember. I still haven't asked for money. This entire time. I've just been stating it's true and defending that.

No I can't walk with shoes on. I can walk barefoot or in chacos or with lidocaine but only in certain situations. Here's a word for you, neuropathy.

Okay, so here's what we've established as fact.

1. I'm a scammer.
2. I've faked all the photos and documents.
3. I've faked the 6 year old post at SQLServerCentral.
4. I'm addicted to drugs.
5. If I do have kids we feel sorry for them.
6. I'm a bot. That's my favorite. I'd love to be a bot. If I could be a bot this good I wouldn't have money problems.
7. I don't handle stress well.
8. You guys have trust issues (funny for climbers).
9. You have to wait for this one. It's not ready yet.

10. There had to be a 10. It's my favorite number. Bye!

12) Severely Bipolar or possibly schizophrenic...

You're a seriously bad scammer if that's your intent. Although you have stolen over $200 now from good intentioned people on that site of yours. So don't dare say "you don't want money".

If you believe what you write then seek mental health.

Someone contacted me from here saying you were going to contact the sites and report me as scamming. Well you can. Here's last month's dialog with our property owners. If you think I faked this then report me to the police.

Rex Winn

He's running a scamming operation. The number is 911. Just remember I can prove all of it. So you might find yourself with some explaining to do yourself. I have no idea how these things work.

Best of luck to you, trying to get me in trouble. I'm not the least bit worried. Best of luck to me, trying to stay in my home. I'm pretty freaked out.

What no more accusations? Come on. I'm just getting started. Here's this. I use mighttext with my Android phone. Here's the one with my mom and I over tires. Come on now kids. If I'm faking let's make sure I make it count.

Hmm.. wonder why my mom would go to her old boss to try and get us credit for new tires? She couldn't in the end unless she cosigned. Oh yippee.

Report us to Commercial Tire in Boise, Idaho too. A lady went there named Barbara Winn and bought us tires. Make sure to tell them she got scammed too. I'd give you the phone number but you guys are so good. I'm sure you'll find it.

So if you are going to report me please take the evidence with you. I hope they come seize my filing cabinet full of all of it. It will get more public attention and people will be like, "Wow. Those people on that web site ripped him apart. Reported him to the police for scamming his own mom. They really are going to get evicted for being late. Did anyone catch that URL to donate at? The one that's fake where people get ripped off?"

Now that I think of it. Please! Go to every website and report me. Use this thread as proof. Please! Do it if you have any guts.

Doh! Now what are you going to do? If you report me it might help me and we certainly don't want that. I know. Let's just get Chris to delete the thread and then nobody will know the truth and then we've really stuck it to him.

I'm bipolar? Seriously? I know some vets are on this thread. I know they are reading it. I know that they know what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night, grab the gun under the pillow and stalk through the house because it's either "Charlie" or a "raghead" and they are soaked in sweat trying to figure out if it's real or a dream. Yeah, I actually know that nightmare too. I get those. I also get the one's where I sprint in to Katie's room because I still hear her choking through the monitor.

Some of you could step out and say something. You know the medical stuff I'm stating is right on. You know that the flashbacks, and relapses and nightmares are right on. So you veterans who fought and saw your friends die? How does it make you feel to have your fellow members call you bipolar? You are you know. If you used your VA loans to buy a house, if you went to a VA hospital to get free medical. If you used any veteran benefit at all to help you out with life because for those of us who've been there it can sometimes be hard and sometimes you need a hand. Well, how do you feel at being bipolar?

I wish! I wish! I wish! I was bipolar and making it up. I wish I was a scammer. Because then I wouldn't really need it.

You know what I really wish is that it wasn't the 30th. That's what I really, really, really wish.

So please go report me. If you do it fast enough I just might get my rent paid.

Please, please report me. Report to all you can. If you go out and do it I just might get a hand.

Funny, in this entire thread. I've been polite. Answered every question. Been accused of everything.

I'm bipolar? Hmmm.... I better check the definition of bipolar again. I must have missed it when I was going through all that training to take care of broviacs. You know they taught us to watch for signs of stress in each other. I don't remember bipolar = "Someone who tells the truth."

Okay, so whoever warned me they were going to contact the other sites and report me. Thank you. I've got it covered.

Yes, the door did hit me on the way out. Thanks for the concern.

Best of luck to you all. I'm going to be a little more interested when I hear about accidents on Yosemite though. I'm going to come here and read about it. If there's anyone trying to raise money to help the guys that are hurt and if I have any to give. I'm going to.

Because when you pay it forward it's worth it. When you leave a bigger tip than the waiter expected it's worth it. When someone punches one of your friends from SEAL TEAM 4 and you think uh, oh and he just picks up his jacket and walks out with you. You feel better.

I think it's always more rewarding to give money to the guy on the street corner with the sign. We used to buy them food when we could.

Some guy gave me $2500 last month to catch up on rent, some other bills and stuff. I took 10% of it. Found this guy on the corner by Texas Roadhouse that I've always seen. It's on Fairview, between Cloverdale and Eagle. I went and I gave it to him in $50 bills. I knew that I would need it. I really hoped he needed it more.

That's me though. The friends of mine on SEAL TEAM 4 (not claiming to be a SEAL) they tell me it's the best feeling to pull a brother out of the fight, risking your own life, knowing you could die too. Then you get to cover and now instead of one guy gunned down laying there. There are two guys behind cover returning fire.

I'm not always going to be gunned down and laying there. When I can though. I'm going to pull the charging handle. Shoulder up and put some rounds down range.

Why? My father is a marine. He was just trying to pull me into cover and even though I'm not getting shot at and I'm all by myself. I won't ever disrespect any man who served our country and stopped to pull a fellow human being out of fire.

Make sure you turn me for that too. I don't know that guys name at Texas Roadhouse but I think he got ripped off too. Might want to let him know.

Just remember this though. Never forget to knot the ends of your rope. The view going down is amazing but not at 170 miles an hour.

Entertain me. Why might I need mental help? This should be good. Mental diagnosis from rock climbers on Rock Climbing forums. I take it you must have some experience with it then?

Ahh... I understand. You must suffer it. Don't worry I won't tell anyone. I tell people when they have viruses on their computers. When they need software written. Or when they might have back or spine problems. I do that as that's my area of expertise.

So you are either a psychologist (very doubtful) or bipolar. Very easy to believe. I mean... If you feel qualified to diagnose mental health disorders you are schooled in it, live with it, or spend more time watching TV than you do climbing.

My vote is the latter. A good day to you though. I'm an engineer so bipolar to me is merely changing the charge from a + to a - or vice versa.

Sorry I wish I could help you more in your situation but ... best of luck.
